Diane Kruger In Nina Ricci & Dion Lee – ‘Into The Fade’ Tokyo Promo Tour

Diane Kruger took her Golden Globe winning film ‘In the Fade’ to Toyko, Japan where she continued her promotional efforts on Thursday (March 22). I was delighted to see the experimental side of her style come out to play with two eye-popping looks.

Press Conference: This satin bustier from Nina Ricci’s Fall 2018 might be a hard sell, but I like Diane’s styling of this look over the runway. The only thing about this look I would be tempted to change are the boots as they feel too heavy, especially against the embellished skirt. Slinky sandals would’ve been perfect here.

Stage Greeting: Diane’s second look will also raise some eyebrows, but I did find myself fascinated by this look when it took to the runway, and I have to say it translated better than I expected. We’ve seen plenty of cut-out dresses, but I love how this one flashes a small amount of skin is a masterful way.  The cut-out boots adds an edgy cool vibe to the look.  She totally nailed this for me.

You guys wanted the fashion daredevil side of Diane to return to the fore, so how did these looks work out for you?

Like Lea Seydoux and Emma Stone before her, Diane Kruger has unlearned how to dress well. The red carpet is less and less exciting each day

That first is beyond terrible. What even is that mess?
The second is a no but not as horrid.
I wish she would get her fashion mojo back.

The first look is No from head to toe

The Dion Lee dress is fine. The shoes are hideous

I agree. And the second look might have needed the lip colour from the first one.

    Loathe both.

I might be the minority here, but I kind of love the second look… I think she pulls it off, making it look sexy in an edgy, badass way.
