Happy New Year. A much better year with all of you back on track 🙂 Celine, Zoe and Tony were my top 3 too

    • Catherine Kallon January 5, 2018 at 3:00 pm #

Happy New Year…thanks for the love xxx

To Catherine and everyone at RCFA – I’d like to add my appreciation for your work in 2017. Nowhere else has the capacity for detail or covers the breadth of red carpet stars that you do. I read some other sites every day too, but yours is the one I look forward to most. Thank you, and I wish you a great year in 2018!

  3. AnderBoBo December 31, 2017 at 7:37 pm #

Thank you FC and the RCFA Team for another year of hard work, such a gem to visit everyday! Cheers to 2018!

  4. illana ahirin December 30, 2017 at 1:02 pm #

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looks so beautiful. She chose the right gown and color, looks so fairytale and like a princess from fairy land. She’s just lovely 😘

  5. illana ahirin December 30, 2017 at 12:50 pm #

Celine Dion’ dress looks stunning on her. The white and little touch of gold on it makes more classy. I’ll be just focusing one her shoulder part. I think it’s too big so she looks “hiding” in between. If it’s made open or sleeveless, she’ll look perfect 😘

  6. Fanny December 29, 2017 at 8:46 pm #

What a great year it’s been! FC I’m so so glad that you and this website are back and I hope you’ll continue many more years.
    Happy holidays!

  7. Rorie December 28, 2017 at 3:25 pm #

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays, everyone! Huge thanks to FC for bringing the site back – I missed the first round and have been enjoying the reboot immensely. Best wishes!

I so wanted to see this list but with family holiday festivities, I am just getting to it today. It’s an interesting list and I can understand the choices though it overlaps with my list only with Thandie Newton, Zendaya Coleman, and Kirsten Dunst. I am always amazed by all the love for that Versace look worn by Amal Clooney. She looks good in it but it looks like a Tadashi dress that I owned in the mid 2000s — so dated now. Anyway, I join all the others in thanking you for bringing back the blog and wishing you a wonderful and happy 2018.

  9. Meme December 28, 2017 at 12:20 am #

Catherine, thanks so much for bringing this fabulous website back. Hope everyone had a wonderful Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanza and to all a happy new year.

  10. AKD December 27, 2017 at 9:39 pm #

Amazing year of fashion reviews. This is my favourite site that I must check multiple times a day, every single day (I know, obsessed!).

That being said, the only looks that I like from this list are below (in order of preference):

    Zendaya in Moschino
    Aishwariya in Michael Cinco Couture
    Thandie in Jason Wu
    Amal in Atelier Versace

Celine is an ABSOLUTE NO, in my opinion.

    Thanks FC!!!

  11. Lexi December 27, 2017 at 4:36 pm #

One thousand (1,000) times NO to Celine. Just horrific imho.

The dress was not on my list for the year and I thought that I was the only person who did not like it.

  12. Paula December 27, 2017 at 3:58 pm #

Omg I’m honestly very surprised with his list!! I love it you did amazing his year fc.

Much love and here’s to more success in 2018!!

  19. Dorothy December 24, 2017 at 7:59 pm #

I’m happy to see that Kirsten Dunst made the list. I loved her in this Rodarte gown. She really made it special. And she looked every inch the goddess in her heavenly blue Shiaparelli Couture gown at ‘The Beguiled’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere.

Thank you Ms. Kallon, for acknowledging her with the ‘Stella’s Got Her Groove Back ‘ award. I’ve been a fan of hers for a while and am happy to see her in looks that once again enhance her beauty.

And thank you so much for bringing back RCFA! Your blog is the very best for exclusive, red carpet coverage and enlightening commentary. I truly enjoy it.

  20. Maria F. December 24, 2017 at 5:45 pm #

Merry Xmas and great to have you back. Looking forward to another year of fashion starting off with all the major award shows.

  21. SilentVisitor December 24, 2017 at 5:10 pm #

So happy to see 1,3,4,5,6,7,9,10 recognized!!!

It is true that the readers’ list is always less consistent because of the diversity of opinions that goes into putting it together which is part of the fun.

I am so glad to have you back FC. Happy Holidays!!!

Thank you very much for sharing your passion with us.

  22. Caroline December 24, 2017 at 2:01 pm #

Love your choices Catherine! Thank you so much to the whole RCFA team for the best coverage as usual. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

  23. Schoolbea December 24, 2017 at 12:33 pm #

Thank you for the comeback, Catherine! Great job from you and your team, please enjoy a well-deserved rest these holidays! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all, critics and commenters!

(The list is very different from mine, but oh well, there’s no account for tastes! Some fabulous looks here too!)

  24. AnnaP December 24, 2017 at 11:43 am #

Dear FC, I much prefer your top 10 to the voted one. I agree with them all!

And thank you for coming back. It’s truly been one of the best things about 2017. Yours is by far the best fashion blog, with a dash of wonderful humour.

Have a lovely Christmas and great New Year. Let’s hope for more fabulousness from Meghan Markle!

  25. faellie December 24, 2017 at 11:12 am #

Catherine: thank you so much for bringing RCFA back this year.

I’m not one for the gossip pages, so this is my go-to place for “fashion in action”. Your expertise and “eye” mean there’s always something for me to learn as well as having pretty pictures to look at.

Happy Holidays to you and yours, and best wishes for the New Year.

  26. Eulalia December 24, 2017 at 11:09 am #

Thanks for coming back! Checking your site is when I relax and take a time to myself in a busy day and I really appreciate it. Enjoy the holidays!

  27. Paolo December 24, 2017 at 10:23 am #

Happy holidays. Thank you for another great fashion year.

  30. vicky December 24, 2017 at 8:02 am #

Much better than the reader’s list, but I still don’t get the fascination with no 2 and 4.
Oh well, thanks for coming back!

  31. Alina December 24, 2017 at 7:48 am #

Yey, three of my favourites are on your list – Celine, Thandie and Rebecca.

Thank you, Catherine and the RCFA team, for another year of fashion. As always, it’s been a pleasure.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all! Xxx

  32. Kiwi December 24, 2017 at 4:17 am #

Love the list! Much more balanced and discerning than the reader’s choice 🙂 Loved all the other year end posts as well. So happy and relieved that you are back in 2017! I do not post much but diligently follow your posts. Your passion is amazing, love, love, love your blog, can’t do without it. Happy Holidays and here is to an amazing 2018!

A big, big, big, Thank You FC 🙂

    • Nat39 December 24, 2017 at 4:51 am #

Oh, let’s go easy on the Readers’ list 🙂 It’s not like we all sat down together and worked it all out – of course, the readers’ votes are going to be all over the long as there are no major mess ups and some of the best made it (Cheline did! Zendaya as well…) it’s quite a nice outcome.

      • Nat39 December 24, 2017 at 4:53 am #

  33. alex December 24, 2017 at 3:44 am #

Thank you Catherine, for another year of amazing work. I’ve said this many times, here and on twitter, that this website has become a very crucial part of my life. It feels like that all I want for Christmas is your list of the BDOTY.

I am a bit surprised that Lily Aldrige didnt make it to your final list. That was a very ethereal moment.

That being said, I am also very thrilled to see Zoe on your list. I love that look so much, though most folks here didnt seem to like it.

It looks like the fashion world has also become somewhat more divisive when we find it harder and harder to agree whon should be crowned the best dressed, like our country. However, unlike politics, controversy always makes fashion more interesting, doesnt it?

Wish everybody a happy christmas and a fruitful new year.

    • alex December 24, 2017 at 3:48 am #

Or simply because I miss the color green, like Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive for the Chopard Party in Canne, or Lupita in that gorgeous Gucci for SAG, or Angelina Jolie in that Versace for Golden Globes.

  34. TeaAtTwo December 24, 2017 at 3:39 am #

Thanks FC and the others for the hard work and bringing a little enjoyment and escapism our lives.

  35. EmmaWoodhouse December 24, 2017 at 2:12 am #

Once again I prefer your list. Glad to see Thandie, Amal, Toni Garrn…all were on my list (though I put Thandie’s Monse a hair above this one, Jason Wu is really winning me back over again). And I really appreciate the other choices, particularly Rebecca Hall, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Kirsten.

Thank you for such a glorious year. I have not been able to comment consistently because of my schedule, but I read each and every post. Your return was the best gift of 2017 for me; you’re indispensable to the fashion world.

  36. Boy December 24, 2017 at 2:05 am #

I always look forward to this list and while we don’t really have the same top favorites I do have to say this is a beautifully crafted list. All standout looks for sure 🙂

  37. Nat39 December 24, 2017 at 12:42 am #

YES!!! Celine and Timothee – Best Dressed of the Year (!!) Same picks as mine 🙂

And 7(!!) out of 10 were also in my top 10 – Celine, Aishwarya, Zendaya, Amal, Tony, and particularly pleasantly surprised that 2 Gucci looks from Zoe and Anya also got chosen:) I had them at # 7,8. (Somehow I didn’t really expect their inclusion much:)

Thanks RCFA once again, and Happy Holidays, everyone!

    • Nat39 December 24, 2017 at 5:34 am #

My only wish is that #1 had been placed on top of the rest of the list, alone, like it’s always been done for everyone else (unless it’s a tie like two years ago, I believe), Celine totally deserved this moment. Aishwarya’s 2nd looks more like a “suspicious” tie.

  38. Ana December 24, 2017 at 12:40 am #

Love the choices! Than you for your hard work this year! Definitely happy to have the site back!
    Merry Christmas 😀

  43. Milly December 24, 2017 at 12:32 am #

FC thank you for sharing your favourites with us. I admit I was a little disappointed with the top 10 readers choice and happy to see more of my choices here 🙂

    • Mimi December 24, 2017 at 1:43 am #

Yes so happy Thandie got some love!!! She’s perfection. Also, I must’ve missed Toni Garrn’s look, I haven’t seen it before. She looks stunning. love Amal and Zoe as well.

I discovered this website in the beginning of this year, and I check it every day. I’ve always loved fashion but this site has taken it to a new level!! It’s perfect. Thank you so much FC!! I’m already excited for 2018’s fashion and I’m going to start compiling my BODTY nominees in a file so I’ll remember them for this time next year 🙂

Happy Holidays and New Year!! 🙂

  44. Ramsay December 24, 2017 at 12:25 am #

Our lists are quite different – I love especially the bottom end of this list – personally I don’t really like the top 2 at all (but this is only my opinion) and I can see that the other readers like these looks as well

    My top 10 is:

1- Nicole Kidman – Premiere of Killing of Sacred Deer – Cannes – Calvin Klein by Appointment
2- Natalie Portman – Golden Globes – Prada
3- Cara Delevigne – Met Gala – Chanel Couture
4- Anna Wintour – Fashion Awards – Chanel Couture
5- Nicole Kidman – Photo call of Killing of Sacred Deer – Cannes – Dior Couture
6- Cate Blanchett – Dubai International Film Festival – Armani Prive
7- Emma Stone – Bafta Awards – Chanel Couture
8- Nicole Kidman – Emmy Awards – Calvin Klein by Appointment
9- Julianne Moore – Met Gala – Calvin Klein by Appointment
10- Naomi Campbell – Met Gala – Azzedine Alaia
11- Alicia Vikander – Festival de San Sebastian – Louis Vuitton
12- Jessica Chastain – Golden Globes – Prada

    • Eda December 24, 2017 at 8:17 am #

Wow. This could be easily my list. Glad that someone remembers Portmans Prada look. I think that it is the best maternity look i have ever seen. Also adore Kidman in Dior.

      P. S. Thank you Catherine for your comeback. You were missed so much you can’t imagine. Happy Christmas to you, your staff and all the readers.

      • Ramsay December 24, 2017 at 2:25 pm #

😉 – I fully agree that Natalie’s Prada is the best mayernity look ever

        • Mimi December 26, 2017 at 11:22 pm #

Omg yes!!! I love that look but I don’t think it got much love.

  45. Fiona - Perth December 23, 2017 at 11:56 pm #

Love all of these Catherine, we had some good looks to choose from this year. Especially love Thandie Newton’s lavender gown followed closely by the Rodarte dress worn by Kirsten Dunst – I have a thing about polka dots! So good to have you back, I look forward to your posts each day and am really looking forward to Awards Season – I missed you very much last season. Merry Christmas from Perth, Australia.

  46. Lashae December 23, 2017 at 11:56 pm #

I also prefer this list to the reader’s choice even though I’ll never get the love for # 4,5 and 10

Happy Holidays to you Catherine and thanks for all the work you and others have done for this site!

  47. Christine December 23, 2017 at 11:47 pm #

    All except for 2, 5, 6 and 8.

Merry Christmas, dear and thank you and the team for keeping us fashion lovers full 🙂

    Cheers to the new year!

  48. Rizz December 23, 2017 at 11:46 pm #

LOVE YOUR LIST… that Gucci worn by Anya Taylor 😍😍

  49. Pheephee December 23, 2017 at 11:39 pm #

Thank you SO SO much for coming back Catherine! You were badly missed.
