Zendaya Coleman In Schiaparelli Couture – 3rd Annual InStyle Awards

Zendaya Colman picked up the ‘Style Star’ Award at the 3rd Annual InStyle Awards on Monday (October 23) in Los Angeles, California, where she didn’t let the judges down by wearing a Schiaparelli Fall 2017 Couture gown.

Her silk tulle dégradé gown embellished with crystal embroideries, which draws inspiration from Mark Rothko’s expressionist paintings, is kept in sharp focus due to the lack of OTT accessories; just red Casadei t-bar plateau sandals.

Despite the furore following her dreadlocks style worn to the 2015 Oscars, that didn’t deter the young actress from sporting a natural-afro style on this occasion.

We’ve seen her rock everything from a pixie cut, voluminous curls, a blunt bob and bone straight hair, so an afro was always on the cards.

She looks incredible and she looks like she feels incredible. I love the colours and the sparkle of the dress, together with her hair and skin the look is gorgeous.

Didn’t recognize her in the poll, thought it’s a woman in her 30s.

Again, this is why I prefer Yara Shadidi’s style over hers (they are about the same age hence why I am comparing). It looks like her stylist told her to wear this so she can look “edgy” and the afro looks she just came out a disco party! She tries too hard sometimes and this is the case here. I don’t like it.

I read her as genuinely loving fashion and having fun.

I don’t doubt that she loves fashion and some of her choices are amazing but sometimes she tends to fall into the costumey territory like here. Had she had her real hair, I would have loved it but the afro isn’t necessary and I don’t get the message behind it to be honest.

Why is there a need to have a message? She seems to enjoys changing looks what wrong, why should clothes always have to say something?

Simply stunning. Absolutely love the hair

OMG, she looks sensational! She really is the style icon of our age. So adventurous and perfect looking whatever she wears, or however she does her hair. She is so versatile and her confidence sells every look!

Love both the hair and the dress, just not together. I think the ‘fro would look more striking against a sleek gown, and conversely simpler hair would allow the voluminous dress to shine more.

Now THIS is a look I love from her. Perfect from head to toe. Wonderful and goes straight to the BDOTW poll.

      +1 again and again.

Glad she was not deterred. Good for her. Her height and confidence keep the volume of hair and dress from being too much.

J’Adore from top of her ‘fro to toe.

Not crazy about the hair because it looks so fake but that dress is gorgeous and she’s rocking it.

I agree. The hair looks ridiculously fake and unflattering whether she is making a statement or not. But from the neck down she is, as usual perfection.

    • yumey October 25, 2017 at 12:58 pm #

      Yeah the hair, no!
