Anya Taylor-Joy In Dolce & Gabbana – 61st BFI London Film Festival Awards

Moments of unquestionable glamour always captivate me on the red carpet.

And, that is exactly what Anya Taylor-Joy delivered, in spades, as she joined Hayley Atwell for the 61st BFI London Film Festival Awards on Saturday (October 14).

Glittering from top to toe, she stunned in a Dolce & Gabbana gown that was simple in silhouette, but oh-so-dramatic in effect.

I was entranced by the flared skirt that formed a moderate train behind her—and how the light scintillated against the sea of nearly holographic sequins.

Allowing the sequins to speak for themselves, she finished the look with the alluring side sweep of old-Hollywood waves and minimal jewels.

It’s ok. The silhouette is very plain and mature plus the darker hair contributes to the maturing effect. The sequins look a bit gaudy/”scaly” and heavy-handed.

Unlike Nicole Kidman’s sparkling moment from last week, Anya Taylor-Joy’s look is perfection — from gorgeous rich brunette waves to toe.

Interestingly, this also made me think back to Nicole’s sparkly gown and… as much as I liked that gown and was one of those who said it was stunning… this one feels better than Nicole’s BDOTW-winning look..^^ – an even more expensive looking sparkly gown, obviously better hair…

The design is nothing groundbreaking, but it’s just so perfectly executed, from the fit to hair(!) and make-up, just absolutely gorgeous.
The picture of her walking, carrying the train is pretty breathtaking.
