October 13, 2017 Runway To Red Carpet, Screening

Carey Mulligan In Giambattista Valli – ‘Mudbound’ New York Screening

Carey Mulligan was back on the red carpet for the ‘Mudbound’ screening during the 55th New York Film Festival in New York City on Thursday (October 12).

After celebrating her décolletage earlier this week, she opted for a far more covered selection this time out with this ruby-red Giambattista Valli Resort 2018 gown.

I was thankful for the subtle ruffle detail and tonal belt that offered feminine shaping—and a hint of flair—to the more solemn side of the dress.

Introducing a bold red lip and a tousled, upswept bun was also a lovely way to finish out the elegant look.

It’s a really good look. Very simple, but not boring, like most of the looks I have seen recently.

Guess I’m the only one who thinks this looks like a nightgown.

This dress suits her much more than the Dior did. Plus she doesn’t look so miserable here and she’s made an effort with her hair.

This is definitely much better than the Dior again. I love how simple and elegant it is, while still being high impact, thanks to the bold color and beauty look, which is on point as well. It’s got a strong effortlessly beautiful vibe to it.

+1 I agree. Still I feel something is lacking.

Maybe I feel because she’s not the right type for such an uncompromisingly understated look. Emma Stone yes, Alicia Vikander yes, Rooney Mara yes yes, but on her, I just doesn’t seem to work.

10 times better than the Dior. Red is gorgeous on her.
