Queen Letizia of Spain wears Felipe Varela to the State Banquet at Buckingham Palace

After kicking off her three-day visit in the UK with a trip to the Horse Guards Parade, Queen Letizia of Spain continued the tour on Wednesday (July 12) with afternoon tea at Clarence House followed by a State Banquet at the Palace with the senior members of the Royal family.

State Banquet: With Queen Elizabeth by her side, Queen Letizia was impeccably regal in a beautifully embellished gown from the Spanish designer, Felipe Varela, and a breathtaking Fleur de Lys tiara. She was decorated with the Order of Carlos III and she carried a Magrit ‘Mary’ red satin clutch. Not only do I adore the majestic red colour of the gown and its flattering off-the-shoulder neckline, I love that she paid homage to Spain with the designer.

As of yet, there are no pictures of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge at the event. But, if you look closely, you can see her in the background donning a petal-pink Marchesa gown.

Tea at Clarence House: Before the State Banquet, Queen Letizia had tea with Charles and Camilla at Clarence House, where she donned another shade of red. This burgundy Burberry satin-back crepe, buckle trench dress was the perfectly modern vision of ladylike sophistication. Again, her styling was on point with a matching Menbur ‘Malva’ clutch and nude Prada pumps.
