Elizabeth Olsen In Marc Jacobs & Miu Miu – ‘Wind River’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Elizabeth Olsen was in attendance at the ‘Wind River’ photocall and the premiere of ‘The Square,’ both on Saturday (May 20) during the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.

Photocall: This Marc Jacobs Fall 2017 patterned dress had something of an identity crisis. Part of it was firmly rooted in winter with its dark, metallic colour palette, turtleneck and long, puff sleeves; while its super-short silhouette was all sun and legs. She styled the look with Monica Vinader jewels and Nicholas Kirkwood heels. However, a nude or brushed metallic shoe might have helped lighten the mood.

Premiere: I can’t say I was crazy about her second look either. The rosy glow of this embellished Miu Miu gown held promise. But, between the droop sleeves, the shoulder pads, and the plunge, it had an overcooked flavour that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. Chopard jewels completed the look.

Looks like she raided her mother’s closet.

I do love the color of the Miu Miu gown on her but agree with some others here that it looks heavy and that’s what ruining the look.

Both are fug. The MiuMiu dress looks cheap.

Would have preferred it without the shoulder pads, but the colour and the embellishment on the Miu MIu gown are just so pretty on her. Put that next to what her peers (K Stew & Lizzie Moss) wore last night and this is a winner

The photocall look is too heavy for the season and the event.

The premiere look is OK. A little too mature for her though.

The first look is kind of nice, a bit heavy, but she sells it to me.
The second on is not good jmo, which is a shame, because the colour and embellishments on the gown are so beautiful… but between the awful shoulder pads (can’t someone finally realise that those are always a bad idea?) and the awkward fit of the neckline (it looks kinda loose? Like it’s going to fall open any time and she has to permanently lift her shoulders to keep it in place?) it’s not a good look.

Love the premiere look, she looks stunning. Lovely color.

The shoulders on the Miu Miu dress are killing me

I think the premiere look is quite gorgeous, actually.
I agree about the photocall look, though. I don’t like the heavy feeling and the shoes.

I agree with you. And the Miu Miu dress is really dated.
