Selena Gomez In Coach – 2017 Met Gala

Selena Gomez made an adorable showing at the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) in New York City, with The Weeknd on her arm.

Bringing a hint of the boudoir to the blue carpet, she wore a ballet-pink Coach lace slip gown, sprinkled through with girly notes of embellishment.

I can only gather that the choker and that brash swipe of magenta eye shadow were both used as an attempt to bring an avant-garde edge to the sweeter side of this dress.

However, I wish she had skipped such strong styling components, as the punk-pretty juxtaposition just didn’t correspond at all.

I actually like this. I don’t love it but it isn’t bad. I don’t blame Selena though, Coach is always bad at the Met Gala.

    Boring, ulgy and unflattering.

well, not the best dress on her, but at least she didn’t lose the “current girlfriend VS ex girlfriend” battle.
just take a look at bella hadid, you will understand what I’m talking about.

LOL. Bella came prepared, knowing Selena and Abel would be performatively loved up, so she brought The Body. And Bella won the style stakes, for sure, even if it was desperate.

This is so prom 2017. No.

They’re cute together, but that’s where my praise stops. The styling is weird and the entire thing is very off-theme.

Sighhh. meh. I really dislike her choker and makeup, and purse. She went like the opposite direction of the theme.

    Lifeless and uninspired.

    I hate the granny shoes!

This looks like a late 90’s prom dress everyone wore.

Jackpot. Bought off-the-rack and Claire’s choker included.

Selena actually isn’t very fashion forward, LV connection or not, so I wasn’t expecting anything particularly interesting.

Very forgettable look. For someone who claimed in last month’s Vogue that she wanted “people to forget about” her, here she is at the Met Gala (after signing a big deal with Coach)…and with her boyfriend. Classic celebrity hypocrisy, but they are cute.

This looks like a little girl’s curtain material. Not good.
    Abel looks nice tho.

This is not prom. Cute couple, but that coach dress is hideous.

Yep. Coach has recently upped their fashion game, but they are not at the design level yet to make something worthy of the MET Gala or any big event.
