2017 SAG Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Posted by Catherine Kallon

Tracee Ellis Ross
Ulyana Sergeenko Couture dress, Narcisa Pheres, Lydia Courteille, Yvel & L’Dezen by Payal Shah jewels.
I really wanted more from Tracee. She’s always been a fan of colour, so this felt a bit drab.
Judith Light
Tom Ford Fall 2012
From the vibrant colour to the slinky silhouette, what’s not to love?

Maggie Siff
Zac Posen
I’m a big fan of anything by Zac Posen, but I was thrown by the pointy bodice.
Beth Dover
Escada dress, Salvatore Ferragamo clutch & Butani jewelry
The ‘OITNB’ actress was oozing sophisticated elegance.

Samantha Isler
Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini Pre-Fall 2017
I love how her gown is infused with plenty of feminine style; punctuated with rose-gold stars and velvet trims for a romantic finish.
Vanessa Kirby
Luisa Beccaria Spring 2017
I do love a shimmering pleated lamé gown, especially when heighten for added feminine appeal with a soft tulle neckline which cascaded down her back.

Gina Rodriguez
Patricia Bonaldi
Nude gowns can be hit or miss. I love this shade on Gina, plus the intricately embroidered gives the design plenty of life.
Shannon Purser
Custom Christian Siriano
Christian Siriano continues to be a red carpet favourite, as he always brings a strong feminine sensibility to all of his designs. Love this dark princess moment.

Felicity Huffman
Antonio Grimaldi Fall 2016 Couture
From the dress, the colour and jewels, Felicity hit the red carpet jackpot. This is such a graceful look for her.
Taryn Manning
Rami Al Ali Fall 2016 Couture
The only thing I dislike about this look was the hairstyle, not the hair colour. A high bun would been preferred, but that probably would’ve gone against the grungy persona she was going for.

Diane Guerrero
Christian Siriano
While I love this gown, I can’t help thinking, “would this have been even better with black tulle?”
Samira Wiley
Novis Resort 2017
She may not have stood out as much as her ‘OITNB’co-stars, but there is no denying what a great colour this is for Samira. And besides, I’ve never known her to be a big ball gown girl.

I agree that Tracee could do better with her dress choice but I do love her rings *_* Beth and Samantha look so beautiful! I prefer this dress on Gina compared to her Golden globes outfit and Felicity is just WOW. One of her best looks ever

    So disappointed by Tracee’s look.

Beth and Gina are my favourites here.

Last week, when my mom discovered that you were back, she called me urgently (I work in another country): RED CARPET IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE WILL KNOW AWARD WINNERS AGAIN!!!!

This could not be more true for me! I realized that after you closed your website last year I gradually stopped even checking award season red carpet photos – I didn’t enjoy or trust the comments, many sites didn’t list the designers. And I just kept wondering, “What would FC say about this? Would she like this? Why didn’t they highlight this gown? I bet FC would…”

For us, this website was THE red carpet for many years. Thank you so, so much!

Hey CS, that is such a cute story about you and your mom.

After a long rest I really missed the site. It feels so good to be back.

Can’t wait to see what the rest of awards season, the met gala and the rest of award season will bring xxxx

Samantha Isler is the only one here who really caught my attention. She looks lovely.

Vanessa, Beth, Shannon are the ones working best here. Samantha’s look is definitely interesting, and I think she’s pulling it off.

My favourite out of this group is Samantha Isler. I love the colour and she manages to make the dress look fresh and not matronly.

I love Felicity Huffman’s dress. And the hair is perfect, too!
