Lady Gaga In Balenciaga – 2015 Met Gala

"China: Through The Looking Glass" Costume Institute Benefit Gala
Lady Gaga swept onto the red carpet of the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ 2015 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).

The entertainer is never one to turn down an opportunity to stand out or to embrace a good costume, and this was no exception.

Completely embodying an Eastern vibe in her custom Balenciaga design, she went the way of the kimono in the colossal, floor-length coatdress that was woven through with black feathers.

Worn over sparkling leggings with her signature, massive platforms, the capacious coat thankfully often hid the silliness of the shoes.

Adorned with Fred Leighton jewels, slightly geisha-inspired makeup, and a black crown atop her jet-black hair, the look was bold, ostentatious, and theatrical—and I fully appreciated it for exactly those reasons.
