Needs A Style Do Over For 2015 – Rita Ora

No better proof that Rita Ora is in desperate need of a style do-over in 2015 than her, ahem, creative and rather comical collection of looks over the past year that have likewise drawn a constant comparison to Rihanna.

Taken outfit by outfit, they are perhaps more digestible albeit no less excusable. But when stacked one right against the next, it’s clear just how far gone the British songstress’s application of tasteful style really is.

Just the very foursome of looks pictured here is a visual assault of magnificent proportions. I simply don’t know what’s worse—the bandanas and blue hair, the Ulyanka Sergeenko black velvet bodysuit, complete with thigh-high boots, at Z100’s Jingle Ball, the Fausto Puglisi sweatshirt and slit-up skirt at the KIIS FM Jingle Ball, or the Marchesa chiffon jumpsuit with a mystery ’do.

On some level, I think we all can appreciate her provocative, no-fear approach to fashion and beauty. And, on the rare occasion, she does teeter on tasteful, cool-girl territory.

But, all too often, she falls back to looks that are nothing short of tragique. She can do so much better in carving out her own unique style voice that’s bold and edgy without being brash and obnoxious.

Until then, though, hide your eyes.
