Rosie Huntington-Whiteley In Balmain – 2014 Met Gala

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley In Balmain - 2014 Met Gala

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looks fierce on the red carpet for the 2014 Met Gala in New York City on Monday (May 5).

The model wore daring Balmain Fall 2014 from head to toe.

The wild combination of leopard print, leather and gold was pulled together with dramatic hoop earrings, sleek straight hair, very classic makeup and nude nails.

Although this look was one of my ultimate favorites from the fall 2014 collections, I just can’t get behind the choice to wear it to the gala. There is no denying that Rosie looks phenomenal, but I don’t think this ensemble was appropriate for the event. What are your thoughts?

I agree. My first thought was, “That’s it?” This is more for a movie premier or the MTV awards or something. I wanted more drama, more oomph.

It’s an absolutely amazing look though, so it’s still one of my favourites.

If she had worn this almost anywhere but here it would have worked but this is so far out in left field I would love to know what she was even thinking.

    Ding dong, last year’s theme..

I don’t like to use this word very often, but this is FIERCE. Def. not right for the event, but FIERCE.

Another questionable choice, I don’t get how she thought this was appropriate at all. Cher Coulter is her stylist and honestly her choices for her clients last night baffle me. But I can’t believe Rosie, when faced with this thought it was a good idea? I can only assume Balmain have paid her well for this.

Agree with everyone, also, didn’t somebody recently wear it? I can’t remember who, but we’ve seen it in this blog. If i find it I’ll post it, because a repeat in the Met ball would be a major fail

oh no! I so wanted someone to wear this fierce look but this is the wrong event. Rosie looks great but so out of place

Unless she was handsomely paid by Balmain, I can’t understand how she is wearing. And how was she allowed access. It is completely wrong, out of the theme and in some way disrespectful within the organization. This is punk glamazon. NOT Charles James in any stretch of imagination.

The Thing about Met Gala is that it has got a theme. Not going with the theme is already a minus in my book, but taking the strictly edgy and hot approach, even though she does look outstanding, is a definite no from me.

Amazing look! Rosie looks spectacular as usual and she would’ve been on my best dressed list…had it been a premier or a fashion show or an MTV award show.
For the MET Gala it’s all wrong. I wish she saved this for another night and put on a gown instead.

Great look but not for this event.

I agree with you FC, this is a nice look but it looks a bit out of theme.

She looks like a squire from Robin Hood. That isn’t a compliment.

Seriously. Even her stance is as if she’s waiting for her knight’s orders. Wth, Rosie?

I literally groaned when I saw this! What a wasted opportunity, this is a ball, not the red carpet of the MTV awards.

Cool and edgy but the look has absolutely nothing to do with the 40-50s glamour theme of the event. Baffling choice from Rosie.

Agreed. she looks so freaking good. I love this but not for this Gala. If there was anytime to go BIG or go home, this Gala is it.

She looks Killer Awesome but…it falls flat on the grand scale of this event

It would have been more appropriate for last years theme, but not so much this years!

Totally agree! She is stunning as usual, but I don’t get how this goes with the event and / or the theme.
