Laura Vandervoort In Mikael D – MIPCOM Party

Laura Vandervoort In Mikael D - MIPCOM Party

Laura Vandervoort (my new girl crush after just one look) joined Abbie Cornish and Clemence Poesy on the red carpet for the MIPCOM party during MIPCOM 2013 in Cannes, France on Monday evening.

The pretty blonde actress looked both sexy and elegant wearing a Mikael D nude strapless sweetheart-neckline cocktail dress with a high-low hem and black baroque embroidery from the Resort 2014 collection.

With so much detail on the frock, she opted for simple black Stuart Weitzman pumps and a gold LK Bennett clutch to complement her gold jewels.

Smoky eyes, a pink lip colour and a sweeping updo completed her look.

The only thing I would change is the shoe choice, opting for sandals or peep-toes instead of the pumps. Other than that – perfection. Lightning really does strike twice.

Sadly, this was a move from classy to tack for me. I don’t like the OTT dress at all and the shoes are a no.

Looks like we have a new fashionista, forsure. Love both her looks so far and can’t wait to see what other tricks she has up her sleeves.

Wow! Perfection. Again. End of story.

Love this from head to toe. I think the shoes on the model actually look awful and I like that Laura didn’t overdo it with accessorizing (including shoes). The dress is just so busy on its own.

Hugely girl-crushing too FC. Will be watching her!

    She looks ok

*sigh* gonna give her the newbie pass too for a bit longer on those pumps. It’s harder to give a pass here than the case, say, of a tailored sheath. A rise and fall, strapless look screams for something dressier than plain pumps. Otherwise I love the dress, fits her beautifully.

I’m struggling to give her a pass on the pumps in this case, considering the style of the dress, too. Such a pretty, delicate dress, the pumps bring it down.

+ 1. I’m having a hard time ignoring the shoes. But I do expect big things from her.

Another great look for her! I think this is perfection! And I’m not going to complain about the shoes….a busy dress doesn’t need busy shoes. I’m in the minority here but I don’t mind a simple pair of pumps :p

I totally agree. On this occasion, I actually prefer the simple black pumps to the lookbook pair, as they compete with the dress. This is BDOTW right along with her last look. She’s my new ‘one to watch’ on the red carpet!

Nice girl & nice dress, I don’t even mind the shoes, but I’m missing something.

Her shoes are so much more boring than the ones in the lookbook.

True, but I still think she looks pretty. The dress is very beautiful. I also like her in Alex Perry two days ago. This is one girl to watch out for.
