Naomi Campbell In Atelier Versace – 2013 Novak Djokovic Benefit Dinner

Naomi Campbell In Atelier Versace - 2013 Novak Djokovic Benefit Dinner

Naomi Campbell worked a temporary short black bobbed wig while attending The 2013 Novak Djokovic Benefit Dinner at Capitale on Tuesday in New York City.

There has been a mini revival of Gianni Versace looks on the red carpet thanks to the likes of Miley Cyrus and Kat Graham, who have worn pieces from the brand’s 1992 bondage collection on the red carpet recently.

Back in 1992 the starlets were just born and two years old respectively when a fresh-faced 22-year-old Naomi was featured in the Atelier Versace Fall 1992 ad campaign wearing this black strap-detailed dress sans the signature Medusa buttons.

Cut to 21 years later and Naomi looks better than ever wearing the same black gown, this time with black sandals with gold trim from Fendi and silver earrings.

This is the very reason we dub them supermodels. Their special powers are to not age, or in most cases to get better with age.

Ugh! This made me love her more. Who better to top Naomi than Naomi herself? It’s like runway to the red carpet but with the same supermodel. I love her to pieces despite all those cellphone throwing tantrums she had. And I love the fact that Versacce is back to being a classy despite the daringness look via Naomi unlike the trashiness of the other Versace looks. You go gurl! 😀

They’re called Supermodels b/c they are Superheroes with Superpowers. Naomi’s obviously, is the ability to never age. Fascinating, amazing, WOW! I don’t love this dress on it’s own merits, but she sells it so well, both past and present, that I just can’t help but be wowed.

I can’t help but compare the two looks, and if compared there is NO touching the first look. Gianni Versace was one of my all time favorites. The styling of the first look is AMAZING!!! Sorry I can’t see past it. But yeah, Naomi is pretty much amazing herself for looking so great in a dress 20 years later. Minus the wig of course.

I love the look from the neck down. Sorry Naomi but the comparison makes me cry.

That’s the reason why Gianni Versace will alway be my favourite fashion designer. His dresses are timeless and Naomi is more than a supermodel, she’s a real Diva. Respect.

That foto from 1992 is amazing.

Naomi looks beautiful in both pictures – I can’t deny it, but I just don’t like the wig she wore at this event.

Also, I don’t think this dress is quite event appropriate. It was a fundraiser. A dress THAT revealing is not the first option at events like this.

      ITA with everything you said.

Completely agree, this look is more suited for the Grammys or VMA’s, definitely not a fundraiser. Also that wig just looks awkward.
