Anna Kendricks Talks To Us About Her Favourite Red Carpet Moment & More At Rachel Zoe’s ‘Major Must Haves’ Range Launch
Anna Kendrick took time out to talk to us at the launch of Rachel Zoe’s ‘Major Must Haves’ range from Jockey at the Sunset Tower in West Hollywood, California, on Wednesday night.
She wore a casual look featuring a Rebecca Minkoff nude studded top, black J Brand jeans, Rachel Zoe shoes and a black leather Rebecca Minkoff clutch.
The ‘Twilight’ star shared her style evolution, her favourite red-carpet moments, her current inspirations, her must-have pieces and her current obsessions.
On the evolution of her style: I’ve gotten more comfortable with wearing more form-fitting dresses. I remember when I first started going to red-carpet events, my stylist wanted me to wear this beautiful Jason Wu dress, but I thought, “Wait, but a movie star should wear that dress! I’d look silly in it.” I ended up wearing something that I felt made me look friendly and approachable. Since then, I’ve gotten more comfortable wearing the more red-carpet-style dresses.
On her favourite red-carpet moment: A dress that was my dream dress but I didn’t know it until I saw it was this nude Dior dress that I wore to the London premiere of ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’. It was very ’30s. It was this beautiful colour. It was the dress I always wanted, but never even knew it!
On who’s currently inspiring her to up her fashion game: I just saw Cate Blanchett in this gorgeous Proenza Schouler at the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards, and I think she’s so statuesque and classy and she makes everything she wears look like art.
On must-have fall pieces: I’ve gotten into cowl necks – anything where I can pull my sleeves over my hands and get cosy. I love boots. OMG do I have too many boots! It’s actually pretty bad. And I love hats. I just bought a bunch of hats, which I didn’t mean to do. I have way too many soft, fuzzy hats. Every time I pass by an H&M, I have to go in and buy in more hats.
On what she’s obsessed with wearing at the moment: I have these Rag & Bone boots that I’ve been throwing on with jeans and a flannel. They’re the kind of boots that make an outfit complete, even though I kind of just threw on the rest of it.
