Kristen Wiig In J. Mendel – ‘Hateship Loveship’ New York Screening

Kristen Wiig In J Mendel - 'Hateship Loveship' New York Screening

Kristen Wiig attended the ‘Hateship Loveship’ screening held at the Museum of Modern Art on Tuesday (April 8) in New York City.

Known for her love of all things minimalist, usually of the Balenciaga variety, I was somewhat taken aback by this colour-block asymmetrical choice from J. Mendel.

I can picture this sleeveless Fall 2014 dress – which features a solid leather mock neck and front panel at the bodice, a solid leather waistband and a draped asymmetric wrap-front skirt – on Chloe Sevigny, Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Connelly and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley without the second layer of the skirt, but Kristen, who has worked an edgy look or two in her time, doesn’t sell it to me. Not one bit, and it’s got nothing to do with the safe Alejandro Ingelmo ‘Tron’pumps.

Rather, it’s because it feels so disingenuous and so far removed from her usual style – not that I don’t appreciate her stepping out of her comfort zone.

I love her and the dress, but not her in the dress.

Taylor Swift In J. Mendel – ACM Awards 2014

Taylor Swift In J Mendel - ACM Awards 2014

Taylor Swift is known for her glamorous gowns with plenty of sparkle, so colour us all surprised by her look at the 49th Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (April 6) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This J. Mendel ivory silk-crepe asymmetrical-slit and cut-out-shoulder-detail crop top and black thigh-high-slit skirt is just the switch up in style which most of you have been crying out for.

While I do love and share Taylor’s love for sparkling romantic gowns, I am also excited about the new look courtesy of J. Mendel.

The fact that this is a custom piece proves that she was looking for a change.

Even the signature red lip is not apparent. She styled her look with a Jennifer Fisher ring, Marina B bangle and ring, plus black leather Casadei ‘Trikini’ sandals with gold-tone hardware, and an M2Malletier clutch.

A refreshing change or are you not buying this look on Taylor?

Anna Kendrick In J Mendel - Burt's Bees Launches Hive With Heart Campaign

Anna Kendrick helped launch Burt’s Bees Hive with Heart campaign at City of Hope on Tuesday (March 25) in Duarte, California.

So excited about the union, Anna tweeted “Helping @burtsbees kick off #HivewithHeart with @lipstickangels, whose miracles are made of lip gloss and BIG hearts.”

The ‘Pitch Perfect’ star looked positively radiant, wearing her favourite colour, blush-pink, after taking a few strolls on the dark side for her last few red carpet appearances.

Her J. Mendel sleeveless pale-pink mixed-panelled dress was styled with matching Giuseppe Zanotti satin caged heels and subtle jewels.

With her glossy tresses falling around her shoulders, she wrapped up the look with a pretty pink lip colour.

Anna Kendrick In J. Mendel – Backstage At The Geffen Annual Fundraiser

Anna Kendrick In J Mendel - Backstage At The Geffen Annual Fundraiser Honoring Steve Martin And Alan Hor

Anna Kendrick attended Geffen Playhouse’s Annual ‘Backstage At The Geffen’ Gala held at Geffen Playhouse on Saturday (March 22) in Los Angeles, California.

The actress opted to wear one of her favourite brands, J. Mendel, donning a Spring 2014 dress in a Fall-like dark-red hue.

Her sleeveless sheer lace dress, featuring a high round neck, a contrast lace waistband and an asymmetrical wrap-front construction with a vent at the skirt, was styled with blood-red sky-high Louboutins and a Rauwolf gemstone clutch in the same deep-red hue.

For someone known for her love of nude and blush, Anna has sure been switching things up lately with sultry dark colours.
