Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

There were a number of men who made an impression at the 2017 BET Awards in LA. But, away from that event, there were more fellows who have made an impression on the red carpet.

Chadwick Boseman: First up, Chadwick scored a style slam dunk at the 2017 NBA Awards on Monday (June 26) in New York City. This Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2017 striped suit was a seasonal, refreshing alternative to the standard-issue colours of black, navy, and charcoal. Plus, I love that he skipped the tie on this sleek dress shirt.

Filipe Valle Costa: At the premiere of FX’s ‘Snowfall,’ on Monday (June 26) in LA, Filipe looked sharp in a David Hart Fall 2017 suit styled with Cesare Pacciotti shoes and a Rolex timepiece. The festive plaid did seem a bit heavy, but he lightened the mood with his unbuttoned, white dress shirt.

Miles Brown: I’m not sure it could get any more adorable than Miles who was also at the 2017 NBA Awards. With his custom TO Collection suit, paired with Florsheim shoes, he gets major style points. He wears bold plaid and a bow tie better than men three times his age.

Demi Moore In Gucci – ‘Blind’ New York Premiere

Demi Moore arrived at the ‘Blind’ New York premiere on Monday (June 26) awash with colour and optimism.

Opting for an uplifting Gucci Fall 2017 suit, the actress made the wise move to pair her busy suit with a hint of black bra and little else.

The print itself, which is reminiscent of gardens in bloom, is eccentric and fun if a little dated. Not dissimilar to Demi’s equally colourful ‘Rough Night’ premiere look from a few weeks back.

Did the richness of the colours and the experimental style win you over?

Monica In Gucci – 2017 NBA Awards

Monica showcased her new platinum blonde hair on Monday (June 26) while attending the 2017 NBA Awards in New York City.

The singer was not one to shy away from colour as she teamed her new look with a striking Gucci Resort 2017 skirt.

Going for a different tact on top, she pared down the sequins with a restrained sheer blouse which complemented the tulle hem at the base of her skirt.

I love the sense of fun and party spirit oozing from this look, even though she didn’t opt for any of the runway styling.

2017 BET Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

The guys at the 2017 BET Awards were not to leave it to the girls for all the head-turning sartorial extravaganzas, as they delivered plenty of their own on Sunday (June 25) in LA.

Gucci Mane: Gucci Mane played the name game and donned a Gucci Fall 2016 sky-blue suit embellished with a sword-through-the-heart motif. A few layers of additional bling were to be expected with diamond cross pendants, rings, and bracelets. DJ Khaled’s baby son, Asahd, gave Gucci a run for his money though, as he wore a mini version of the same suit—sans bling—for the ultimate twinning moment.

French Montana: We’ve seen the pyjama trend on the red carpet, but French was all about the robe life in this Gucci Spring 2017 piece that was hyper-decorated in a bizarre fusion of Asiatic embroideries and Donald Duck. Presented over a white dress shirt, distressed denim and gold chains, it really did seem like he failed to remove his dressing gown before leaving home.

Demetrius Shipp Jr.: A fine vision in aubergine, Demetrius put the sillier sartorial statements to shame in this Ermenegildo Zegna monochromatic suit that he suavely styled with black slipper shoes.

Tallia Storm In Gucci – Jersey Style Awards 2017

Scottish singer Tallia Storm attended the Jersey Style Awards 2017 on Saturday (June 24) in Trinity, Jersey.

With a dramatic approach, she wore an embellished Gucci Spring 2017 dressing gown that was decorated with the roaring tiger motif at the back.

Provocative not by way of its skin-baring appeal—the lining took care of that—but more so in its moody, dark appeal, it was an interesting choice for the young starlet.

Speaking of that lining, though, the off-white colour didn’t provide as seamless of an effect as it should have, as it was blatantly noticed through the sheer chiffon.

It just all seemed a bit overworked. Would you agree?
