‘The Mummy’ Sydney Photocall

Following Sydney premiere for ‘The Mummy’, Annabelle Wallis and Sofia Boutella attended the photocall on Tuesday (May 23), alongside their co-stars Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe.

Annabelle Wallis: The British actress turned heads in a colourful Alexander McQueen Spring 2017 dress. It was a bold choice with silver rings piecing together the part Fair Isle, part floral crochet elements. Keeping the dress in focus with simple sandals and loose, wavy hair was the right way to go. If this promo tour is anything to go by, Annabelle’s not just a talented actress, but also a fashion inspiration as well.

Sofia Boutella: The French-Algerian actress may be scary as the mummy in the film, but her outfit choice was anything but. She looked delightful in a sea-green Saloni Fall 2017 dress which was a change in direction from her usual fashion-forward choices. From the modest cut to the long length, this look that was sophisticated, yet feminine; topped off with gold heels and minimal accessories — because the embroidering on the dress makes a statement in itself.

Nicole Kidman In Alexander McQueen – ‘The Beguiled’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Nicole Kidman joined Elle Fanning on the red carpet for ‘The Beguiled’ photocall during Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday (May 24).

Also wearing a look from the Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2017 collection, her dress epitomized romanticism of the brand.

I love how the corset-like bodice reveals a hint of sultry while the grommet belt add an slight edge.

I can’t say that I love the shoes here, but this is still another awe-inspiring look from Nicole.

Pippa Middleton and James Matthews Wedding

The Cannes Film Festival may be in full swing, but the other major event of the weekend was the wedding of Pippa Middleton and James Matthews on Saturday (May 20) at St. Mark’s Church in England.

I was awestruck by the classic beauty of Pippa’s bespoke Giles Deacon lace gown that featured a heart-shaped cutout at the back. It was enduringly romantic, sophisticatedly feminine and forever timeless—everything you’d hope a wedding dress could be.

Her fine tulle veil, with its dégradé of embroidered pearls, was made by renowned milliner Stephen Jones, and it brought a delicate, whisper-light addition to the gown.

A Maidenhair Fern tiara and matching headpiece by Robinson Pelham, along with custom-made Robinson Pelham earrings and custom Manolo Blahnik ‘Seneca’ pumps completed the graceful, fairytale look.

Of course, we cannot forget the bride’s bouquet which included astilbe, sweet pea, peony, freesia and waxflower, as the lushly simple array of white blooms couldn’t have been more suiting.

Chopard Space Party

Galactic with a touch of diamonds was said to be the dress code of the Chopard SPACE Party, co-hosted by Rihanna, during the 2017 Cannes Film Festival on Friday (May 19), and the stars in attendance indeed delivered a constellation of looks appropriately dusted with Chopard jewels.

Bella Hadid: Lest you think Bella had turned a corner with a newly modest style after the ‘Okja’ premiere, her Roberto Cavalli Couture slit-to-thigh gown promptly signaled her return to the leg jut. But, it was necessary to show off her custom-made Rene Caovilla gladiator sandals. I always find satin a challenging fabric, and that was evidenced here. Futuristically winged eyeliner finished the look.

Adriana Lima: Looking impossibly regal, Adriana struck a divine note in this Reem Acra Spring 2018 Bridal gown that would never be confused for a wedding dress. I was in awe of the glamour that exuded form the embellished top and dramatic, caped split sleeve.

Kendall Jenner: I love the sculptural mood of this shimmering Ralph & Russo Spring 2017 Couture design that could certainly pass for space-age sophistication.

Jessica Chastain In Alexander McQueen – ‘Ismael’s Ghosts’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Also gracing the red carpet of the 2017 Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony and premiere of ‘Ismael’s Ghosts on Wednesday (May 17), was Jessica Chastain.

The star wore a stunningly detailed Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2017 gown that held its own surrounded by a sea of fashionable moments.

While the intricately embroidered velvet bodice is certainly the talking point of this piece, what I can’t seem to tear my eyes from is the bottom of the bodice–the lines are so unique and so perfectly placed on Jessica’s legs, it is simply masterful design and tailoring work.

The actress opted for a slightly less sheer skirt than the lookbook version, which was tasteful and smart for the occasion, and every single carefully thought out styling element from her dazzling diamond and ruby collar necklace to her ruby lips and manicure are divine.

‘Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop: A Bad Boy Story’ London Screening

A dynamic trio of trend-forward stars were at the screening of ‘Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop: A Bad Boy Story’ in London on Tuesday (May 16).

Salma Hayek: Salma prettified this Gucci Resort 2017 ensemble by wearing the strong, plaid skirt with a feminine ruffle blouse and sculpted heels, although the leather jacket did contribute a tougher edge. It was a solid effort for Salma; I was just slightly bothered by the fit of the skirt around the hips, as I would have preferred a more streamlined finish.

Lupita Nyong’o: I was delighted to see Lupita back on the red carpet in this statement-making Fendi Spring 2017 ensemble that brought in her love of bold hues with the red turtleneck sweater. It takes a certain talent to pull off the directional edge of the crop top and those cropped parachute pants, and she definitely fit the bill. Plus, her styling and her beauty look were on point from top to toe.

Naomi Campbell: The supermodel was not ready to bid adieu to sheer yet, as she wore it in a lace top with this decorative, sexy spin on suiting from the Alexander McQueen Spring 2017 collection. Her sleek bob helped increase the chic factor of the look.
