Red Carpet Fashion Awards

On Friday evening at the Stella McCartney boutique in LA, Paul McCartney hosted the premiere of ‘My Valentine’, which he directed, with his daughter Stella, who outfitted the guests on the night.
Here are the best dressed on the night. The ones who I didn’t like will follow later.

Miranda Kerr: The supermodel wore a dress from Stella McCartney’s Spring 2012 collection. The model, wisely, opted for a solid black version of the runway dress which still has the curvilinear embroidered and the mesh panel inserts above and on the waistline. I love the Stella McCartney yellow faux-python clutch, but the black pumps are really anonymous. She could’ve punched up the look with black sexy sandals, yellow pumps or gold sandals to complement the gold hardware on her clutch.

Gwen Stefani: The singer nailed her look wearing a chic Stella McCartney Fall 2011 black silk jumpsuit with sheer panels and a peplum waist which I prefer to the runway version with polka dots. She teamed her jumpsuit with a Kelly Wearstler perforated clutch and black Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle’ pumps which work so well on this occasion. A twisted top knot and her signature smouldering red lip colour completed her look. She was easily one of the best on the night.

Jordana Brewster: The actress donned a two-tone Stella McCartney Spring 2012 mini dress with a swirling embroidered detail which we have already seen on Salma Hayek. With her ombre hair tumbling down her shoulders, she completed her look with a blue faux-leather ‘Falabella’ clutch and two-tone faux-leather sandals.

When I featured Reese Witherspoon wearing a Kate Spade dress back in early March, many of you believed that the actress was pregnant.

Well you were right.

Reese was spotted with her family leaving church on Easter Sunday morning in Santa Monica, California showing off her baby bump wearing a Vanessa Bruno Athé dress.

Her fuchsia sleeveless belted dress with gathered detailing along the neckline and ruched sleeves was paired with a grey Christian Dior quilted bag and Diane von Furstenberg ‘Sinead’ sandals.

Sunglasses and gold bangles completed her look.

You can buy Reese Witherspoon’s Vanessa Bruno dress from StyleBop.com,
her Diane von Furstenberg sandals are from Net-A-Porter.com and Shopbop.com
and her Christian Dior bag is from Bluefly.

Here we have a WWIB poll with three celebs wearing the same dress in different colours.

First up, Rooney Mara who, on a rare occasion, broke out of her all-black sombre looks to shine on the red carpet wearing a Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2012 green sleeveless dress to the 27th Annual Santa Barbara Film Festival Virtuosos Awards.

She wore her cute dress with Giambattista Valli heels, keeping the rest of the look clean and fresh by simply pulling her short hair back into a low ponytail.

Dianna Agron wore the black version of the dress when she attended the Louis Vuitton Fall 2012 presentation during Paris Fashion Week.

She kept the look interesting by adding a green choker. The rest of her accessories included a sparkly black clutch, black tights and sparkled-cap Louis Vuitton heels.

Reese Witherspoon was the only one to belt her Louis Vuitton dress when she took to the red carpet in Brazil for the premiere of her latest movie, ‘This Means War’.

The blonde beauty also added a statement necklace and completed her look with Jimmy Choo ‘Greta’ sandals.

You’ll be surprised to know that Dianna wins for me.

I loved the colours of both Rooney and Reese, but I didn’t like Rooney’s makeup and I didn’t like how Reese styled her dress.

Dianna’s chic accessories won me over.

Reese Witherspoon was in Brazil last night for the Rio de Janeiro premiere of her latest movie ‘This Means War’.

The star opted for her second Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2012 look of this promo tour.

On this occasion, she wore a lemon sleeveless dress with a tulip-shaped skirt plus Jimmy Choo ‘Greta’ sandals.

Despite seeing enough of those LV toe-cap pumps yesterday, it would have been an interesting change for Reese wear the models pumps, as she pretty much always wears a black shoe of some description on the red carpet.

A black belt and a statement necklace complete her look.

I’m not fond of the necklace: it seems a last minute choice. However, it does prevent this look from feeling too much like an office look, which can often be Reese’s signature look.

Reese Witherspoon was spotted leaving Church with her two kids and husband Jim Toth on Sunday afternoon.

The actress opted for a summery Kate Spade New York ‘Sonja’ frock which was perfect for the weather and the occasion.

Her empire-waist print dress was teamed with black accessories including ballet flats, a structured tote and shade.

For someone who’s been very busy promoting her new movie, Reese looks very relaxed.

I love everything about this easy, breezy mid-Sunday afternoon look.

Reese Witherspoon decided to hit the red carpet for the ‘This Is War’ Seoul premiere sans tights this evening in South Korea.

With her hair pulled back into a simple bun, the leg-baring actress wore a Giambattista Valli Spring 2012 Couture dress.

I’m sure you’re thankful, like I am, that this dress is not another typical Reese red carpet dress, i.e. a short fitted bustier dress because she’s done that look to death.

Her lace and silk tulle dress with floral embroidered dress was teamed with Jimmy Choo ‘New Lance’ sandals.

Whilst I do like the dress on Reese, she doesn’t quite give it much oopmh plus I prefer the sexy sheerness of the runway look.

Do you like this dress, or is Reese still not doing enough to impress you on the red carpet?
