Blake Lively In Oscar de la Renta – American Ballet Theatre Spring 2017 Gala

While we’re disappointed that Blake Lively doesn’t appear to be heading to Cannes this year, she did make an appearance at the American Ballet Theatre Spring 2017 Gala on Monday (May 22) in New York City.

Displaying the feminine delicacy we love, Blake’s beautifully draped Oscar de la Renta Fall 2017 gown is cut from an eye-catching neon citrine silk chiffon which is as sunny as the actress’ personality.

I love the turquoise Lorraine Schwartz earrings for and additional pop of colour, but I was kinda underwhelmed in the hair department as it feels a tad too casual for this look.

Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals provided the finishing touch.

Trophée Chopard Ceremony

A range of stars indulged in a range of sparkling looks at the Trophée Chopard Ceremony on Monday (May 22) as part of the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.

Marion Cotillard: None shone more brightly than Marion who took my breath away in a Halpern Fall 2017 masterwork styled with a diamond collar necklace. I could gush on and on about the fantasy of the design’s radiant, colour-swirled paillettes, the unexpected mod edge of the pants, and the impossibly long, shimmering train. But, we should just let the look do the talking.

Isabelle Huppert In Gucci & Christian Dior Couture – ‘Happy End’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Flowy fashion statements have been Isabelle Huppert’s M.O. at the Cannes Film Festival, and that theme showed no sign of waning at the ‘Happy End’ photocall and premiere on Monday (May 22).

Photocall: I haven’t been impressed with Isabelle’s Cannes looks thus far, so this Gucci Pre-Fall 2017 gown was a welcome relief—not only for its vibrant print but also because it actually fit properly.

Premiere
: Unfortunately, this Christian Dior Spring 2017 Couture gown reversed the upward trend, as it was rather ill-conceived in its washed-out colour along with the age-inappropriate sheer skirt and silver platform pumps.

Sonam Kapoor In Elie Saab Couture – ‘The Killing Of A Sacred Deer’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Sonam Kapoor was sticking with Elie Saab for her second red carpet appearance for ‘The Killing Of A Sacred Deer’ Cannes Film Festival premiere this evening (May 22).

When I see her in this gold tulle embroidered Spring 2017 Couture gown I ask myself, “where is the fashion trailblazer who used take this festival by the scruff of the neck and shake things up?”

Her gown is absolutely stunning, don’t get me wrong.

It’s my favourite of the Elie Saab gowns so far, and one of the best from today; but I was expecting way, way more from Sonam so overall I feel a bit disappointed.

Sara Sampaio In Francesco Scognamiglio Couture – ‘The Killing Of A Sacred Deer’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Sara Sampaio was back on the red carpet for ‘The Killing Of A Sacred Deer’ Cannes Film Festival premiere this evening (May 22).

What we’ve learned about Francesco Scognamiglio’s Couture designs in the last 24 hours is that thongs appear to be mandatory.

Again, this is a well designed sheer lace gown with the feminine appeal heighten by the delicate ruffles, but who can take you seriously with your bare butt cheeks hanging out?

I can’t believe I have had to ask that question twice today. First with Rita Ora, and now with Sara.

Cannes Fashion For Relief

The Fashion for Relief gala and runway show event was held during the 2017 Cannes Film Festival on Saturday (May 21), with attendees turning up the volume on their own fashion statements for the evening.

Naomi Campbell: Before gracing the runway at the event, the supermodel stunned in an Atelier Versace Spring 2017 gown with Santoni sandals and Bulgari jewels. The slithery, slit-to-there was Naomi’s version of a Grecian goddess look; I loved the movement of the diaphanous skirt and the shimmer of the knotted overlay that infused the look with an intriguing edge.

Uma Thurman: After her questionable last look, Uma redeemed herself a bit in this Atelier Versace embellished number styled with Giuseppe Zanotti sandals. However, am I alone in thinking the dress felt a bit dated?

Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan
: I have a feeling that this Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci dress was far more beautifully perceived in person with its tonal embroidery and lace underskirt. Its pristine-white polish is what kept me most interested.

Lewis Hamilton
: The British race car driver didn’t leave his sporty edge at home, bringing it to Cannes with this Gucci ‘Bee’ bomber jacket.

Eva Longoria In Marchesa – ‘The Killing Of A Sacred Deer’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Eva Longoria made her first official appearance on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet for ‘The Killing Of A Sacred Deer’ premiere this evening (May 22).

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised this Marchesa Pre-Fall 2017 gown.

It fits. Most importantly.

It showcases her gorgeous figure.

It’s not working against her as she appears taller than her petite frame; and the illusion neckline is barely visible.

This continues to prove that when it comes to Eva and Cannes she finds a way to turn it on, as this might be her best look this year.
