Cynthia Erivo In Rosie Assoulin – 2018 Whitney Gala

Cynthia Erivo took to the mauve carpet before her performance at the 2018 Whitney Gala on Tuesday (May 22) in New York City.

She let the sunshine in wearing a bright yellow Rosie Assoulin ‘Let Me Live’ dress from the Spring 2018 collection.

I’m naturally attracted to the bold colour of the dress, but I’m puzzled by the gold metallic pumps with such a carefree summery dress.

I didn’t like this look when Greta Gerwig a blue version to the Independent Spirit Awards, but I’m not having that same strong reaction to Cynthia. Perhaps I just prefer it in yellow.

Gillian Jacobs In Brock Collection – Netflix’s ‘Ibiza’ New York Premiere

Gillian Jacobs was at Netflix’s ‘Ibiza’ New York premiere on Monday (May 21).

The crisp silhouette of her Brock Collection Pre-Fall 2018 ensemble was enhanced with the dynamic design. It created a kaleidoscopic effect using a traditional floral print.

The delicate sandals and lighter belt complemented the ivory tones in the style perfectly and presented a much more cohesive finish that was appropriate for the season.

It was elegant and ebullient.

There have been a few looks on the red carpet of late that had autumnal leanings, but this Ralph Lauren Collection Spring 2018 look captures the joy of the season with its vivid colours and preppy spirit.

Katie Holmes In Zac Posen – 2018 American Ballet Theatre Spring Gala

Katie Holmes was back on the red carpet at the 2018 American Ballet Theatre Spring Gala on Monday (May 21) in New York City.

The actress frequently wears Zac Posen and was outfitted in a romantic Spring 2018 dress for the event.

It embodies the designer’s signature brand of femininity with its pleated skirt, nipped waist and flourish of floral embroidery.

The bateau neckline has a slightly raised middle in the lookbook, but the fit on hers is a bit better as it lays flatter.

Denise Gough In Erdem – 63rd Annual Obie Awards

Denise Gough was in attendance at the 63rd Annual Obie Awards on Monday (May 21) in New York City, where she won the performance award for her work in ‘People, Places & Things.’

Rather than a show-stopping dress, she surprised in an Erdem Fall 2018 ensemble. It was a surprising choice for the occasion and from the designer given that the brand is closely associated with dresses carrying a dark romance.

The unique style worked in her favor as it suited the more casual event and played off the blooming backdrop. The designer’s florals were re-imagined in a metallic crop top and paired with plaid pants for a masculine contrast.

Not to be missed were the two different coloured heels. They might have lacked the punch of the embellished hot pink shoes from the runway, but added a quirky finish.

Yara Shahidi In Victoria, Victoria Beckham – Disney/ABC International Upfronts

Yara Shahidi attended the Disney/ABC International Upfronts on Sunday (May 20) in Burbank, California.

Proving that the athleisure trend is not confined to the gym, the ‘Grown-ish’ star instilled a sporting sensibility into her look wearing a girlie pink Victoria Beckham Spring 2018 shell top and split hem pants.

This really is the most elegant take on the classic jogger silhouette with ice-white sneakers completing her look.

‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ New York Screening

Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke and Alden Ehrenreich attended the screening of ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ on Monday (May 21) in New York City.

Donald Glover: Looking as smooth as ever, the actor played it cool in a Gucci Pre-Fall 2018 clean-lined suit that has a distinct ’70s vibe to it. I love this rich caramel hue and the pairing of the appropriately titled ‘Dapper Dan’ GG sweater, that successfully showcased the brands heritage along with the loafers.

Emilia Clarke: Why blend in when you can stand bold while wearing Alessandra Rich’s Fall 2018 colourful dress? And if the print wasn’t striking enough, an eye-catching diamante and fringed detail finished off the look. This promo tour is really bringing out the best in Emilia.

Alden Ehrenreich: The actor kept things simple and clean wearing a Strong Suit by Ilaria Urbinati look in a bold French blue hue.
