Keira Knightley In Chanel – ‘Colette’ Sundance Film Festival Premiere

As we know Sundance Film Festival is all about dressed -down elegance, and more importantly, keeping warm.

Keira Knightley has always marched to her own drum, and on this occasion she wore a Chanel Pre-Fall 2018 look to her premiere for ‘Colette’.

I don’t think I’ve ever considered a look from Sundance as BDOTY-worthy, but this velvet navy tuxedo is about to change everything.

This is such a fashion moment. It could’ve come off quite costumey, but Keira’s enigmatic magnetism has a hold of me and won’t let go.

I’m obsessed with this look. It’s so well put together, so well styled and oozing with charm.

The look was of course styled with Chanel accessories including shoes and jewelry, plus I have no doubt that she applies a spritz of Coco Mademoiselle too.

Needed tailored pants, which would have been “done” before, but would have worked better.

Über chic. She transpires sophistication in this look. It’s a difficult outing, not for everybody’s tastes but she wears it with aplomb.

I agree. Even if you don’t like it, the execution has to be admired at the very least

The best Keira has presented to us in years! She is so perfectly suited to Chanel. Channeling the Grand Dame herself.

I really like this (not love), but I wish the pants were just a smidge shorter as the length makes her look a little stumpy.

    • Nat39 January 22, 2018 at 03:12 #

Yup, the look shortens her, unfortunately, further contributing to the Chaplin-esque effect.

I…really dislike this. I love a sharp tuxedo but the top half looks like a waiter and the bottom half looks like a clown. Her head is of course one of the most beautiful ever, so she’s got that going for her.

+2 also the collar and bow tie look so sloppy! (Not sure if it was intentional)

I wasn’t blown away immediately, but after looking at the close-ups and looking at it for a while, I’m completely sold on this look

Sadly I despise the bottom half of it. I hate the wideness of it and the shoes don’t fit in.
The top half though is super cool. But a end of year look? def not.

It’s ok, she pulls it off but it feels a bit much for Sundance.

    Gouchos? Really?

  10. meme January 21, 2018 at 20:19 #

all i see is Charlie Chaplin. from the neck up, she’s perfection.

  11. Schoolbea January 21, 2018 at 19:03 #

I’m trying hard to love it, but there’s a costumey effect that I can’t shake off.

    EVERYTHING! EVERYTHING!

“Keira Knightley in Chanel”: my God, how I love reading those words. This fantastic look perfectly encapsulates why!

  14. JHH January 21, 2018 at 18:04 #

This is so very costumey. Yes, she is beautiful but this just a Charlie Chaplin costume. I don’t get all the love for it.

  15. Charlotte January 21, 2018 at 17:52 #

Perfect from head to toe! As you said, BDOTY worthy for sure.

  16. Caroline January 21, 2018 at 17:16 #

A costume. And a bad one.

  17. Isabela January 21, 2018 at 17:13 #

She is the only person that can make this look good.

  18. Iva January 21, 2018 at 16:26 #

On most people this would’ve look just ridiculous, but Keira rocks it!
    I LOVE it!

  19. Chris January 21, 2018 at 16:24 #

    LOVE! So good and unexpected.

  20. delamea January 21, 2018 at 16:22 #

    Perfect, just perfect.

  21. Nat39 January 21, 2018 at 16:17 #

There is a bit of a Chaplin-esque effect, but I do love how it all comes together as the look and elevated by Keira’s presence (only wish she’d opted for a different shoe).
