Lupita Nyong'o In Calvin Klein Collection - Calvin Klein Celebrate Women In Film

Lupita Nyong’o attended the IFP, Calvin Klein Collection & Euphoria Calvin Klein celebration of Women In Film this evening (May 15) in Cannes, France.

The actress wore a shimmering blue Calvin Klein strapless dress with a slashed bodice styled with a rare pair of silver sandals.

After a few missteps, it’s good to see that she’s back to doing what she does best – look fabulous.

Finally a gorgeous look from her after what felt like a very long time.

Still a wrong step to me. There is not one thing I like on this look.

It’s going to take me awhile to forget her Met look but we’re getting there lol. Nice look.

:) I agree. A super-glamorous look on the red carpet at Cannes and we would be even closer.

This hard-edged look doesn’t really work for me. Also, I think that the combination of the awkward length and the ankle-strap sandals is making Lupita look much shorter than she is.

    • Joy May 15, 2014 at 23:55 #

Martin, you hit the nail on the head. I was trying to figure out why I didn’t like this look, and it’s because the look is too hard. For me, Lupita is her best when her looks bring out her soft and feminineness. She looks beautiful in the color, and obviously this is no Met misstep, just stating my preference.

I agree with you, I don’t know how tall she is, but this skirt length is not for ankle-strap shoes. Maybe it’s also the photo, because all the photos of this event are quite unflattering.

she has such a nice shape, i love her in strapless because it highlights her shoulders/clavicle

Great colour, nice sandals, the sharp bodice is perfect on her toned frame…she is looking good.

  10. amy May 16, 2014 at 00:44 #

    YES.

Beautiful, but…whatever. Not new or wow-ze

She does not work? Only in fashions and celebritys events or kinda… disappointing for someone who claims to be a serious actress.

I like the shape of the dress alright but I have never been a fan of Lupita in darker colors. I wish this had been something bright and vibrant. I also prefer her hair super short.

Great colour and I finally like her shoes!

  14. EmmaWoodhouse May 16, 2014 at 03:06 #

Color and shoes are great, silhouette is OK but I don’t like the slash and it’s sitting a bit low. Still wanting more from her.

    • Denise May 16, 2014 at 06:39 #

Not liking the slash either. Or the length.

    Yay! No pumps!

    Miss for me.

Having seen these looks from Calvin Klein event, I must say (yet again) they should stop punishing women by designing dresses. They are really good at making underwear and they should stick to it. Their dresses are boring, unoriginal, unflattering and simply not worth their price.

I like the color on her… but thats about it. Not warming up to this look on her.
