Christina Aguilera In Maria Lucia Hohan – 2013 American Music Awards

2013AMA_ChristinaAguilera

Before taking to the stage to perform, Christina Aguilera was on the red carpet at the 2013 American Music Awards on Sunday at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.

The singer flaunted her figure in a white Maria Lucia Hohan long-sleeve, plunging gown with side peekaboo cutouts and a thigh-high slit for added sultry appeal.

Bling is really the only word to categorize her accessories, what with a high-shine Jimmy Choo ‘Cosma’ clutch, sparkling Lorraine Schwartz cocktail rings and pendant earrings, and glittery Christian Louboutin pumps.

There was certainly an old Hollywood sensibility to her entrance that was mixed with a Marilyn Monroe-esque edge, given her platinum, wavy bob and coral-red lip lacquer. But, slightly compromised by cutouts and some fit issues, the look still fell short of full-on glamour.

I like that she doesn’t look trashy but this look is a bit “mature” to me, as in Jane Fonda.

The hair is fried to death.

I love the shoes and makeup.

  2. Christine November 25, 2013 at 03:05 #

    She looks gorgeous.

  3. Pedro November 25, 2013 at 03:10 #

She looks hot but so tacky

  4. Kat November 25, 2013 at 03:11 #

There is a group of angels singing the ‘Hallelujah Chorus’ right now. FINALLY, subdued hair and makeup, along with a beautiful dress. Keep it up!

I totally agree. Look at her here, compared to just about every other RC for the past 5 years. She looks amazing. Let the girl have some credit!

ITA as well. This is probably one of her best looks since her “Back to Basics” period.

This barely looks like a real person. At first glance this could definitely be a Madame Tussaud’s figure. I mean, in theory I like this look, but i find the makeup too heavy it’s actually mildly frightening.

  6. Valissa November 25, 2013 at 03:36 #

I wouldn’t exactly call this “heavy” makeup for Christina. This is actually quite subtle for her and I think she looks beautiful! It’s the best she’s looked in a very long time and it’s not tacky or OTT compared to what we’re used to seeing from her. It’s just perfect! And she does the “old Hollywood” look better than most celebrities these days IMO.
    Thumbs up from me!

      I totally agree!

      • Cookie November 25, 2013 at 05:05 #

Still could stand to dial it down a few notches lol. She’s beautiful but the makeup is so distracting.

    • KatieKate November 25, 2013 at 08:01 #

      Me too.

    • Denise November 25, 2013 at 09:30 #

I like her here, too. She looks good, it’s great to have her back.

    • Lara November 25, 2013 at 12:38 #

If you click in and view more images, you may change your opinion that he make-up is not heavy. It’s flawless, but it is about 4 layers thick. And there are definitely fit issues. Not a fan of this look.

  7. wilson November 25, 2013 at 06:54 #

her face looks fake as usual

  8. KatieKate November 25, 2013 at 08:03 #

I looked and looked but still can’t find any ‘fit issues’. ??? It looks, to me, to fit her like a glove.

  9. amy November 25, 2013 at 08:20 #

this is better by Christina’s standards but still awful. the bleached hair just needs to go, it makes her look a bad plastic doll

i beg to differ… i think she looks great… shes come along way… n shes improving time after time.. so lets jus hope it continues… love her

    • H November 25, 2013 at 13:49 #

      Right? Totally agree

  11. Tess November 25, 2013 at 09:23 #

She should reconsider her hair colour but this is a big step forward for her.

  12. kane November 25, 2013 at 10:10 #

Almost tame by her standards, but still not my style.

  13. Stel November 25, 2013 at 10:35 #

Really really nice.. no boobs flying around, great hair, the X-tina make up, everything’s great! But I don’t like the length of the dress..

  14. The Dame Intl November 25, 2013 at 11:19 #

I feel sorry for her poor hair. I love that her makeup is toned down from the usual bronzed to death clown face, the dress does not fit properly but she looks lovely and she’s lost a lot of weight. This is ok.

  15. Caro Chanel November 25, 2013 at 11:41 #

I wish she would try something different. This look is worn out on her and she never really made it work either. She doesn’t look to terrible in this dress and hair make up is more subtle than usual but it’s still not good. I also wish the dress was a bit longer.

  16. Dean November 25, 2013 at 11:48 #

Definitely the best she’s looked in a while. But she really does need to address her hair and makeup.

  17. Maria November 25, 2013 at 14:57 #

She’s just so tacky. The hair, the orange skin, the make up, the giant fake boobs. And that length is terrible. I don’t think she’ll ever get it right.

  18. Leti November 25, 2013 at 17:12 #

This may not be perfect, but it’s pretty much as good as Christina gets, so I’ll applaud it with that in mind.

  19. liz November 25, 2013 at 17:46 #

Trainwreck. She needs serious help. Somebody please scrub that nasty orange tan off of her.

  20. anonymous as always November 25, 2013 at 18:18 #

I am happy to see her gaining her figure back! I don’t like the fabric of the dress but overall she looks glamurous and much improved! So it’s a thumps up for me!

  21. kimber November 25, 2013 at 21:04 #

Yuck.. first, steam the dress off the hanger.. you can see that wasn’t done as the shoulders are pointy and they should be round.. 2nd, something very odd is going on with the sleeves, they aren’t cut properly. The V on the neck opening has been stretched out, as it’s wobbly… might’ve been fixed with a proper steam or press, but possibly occurred in make. A floor length would’ve been much nicer… and hate the lipstick. Definitely a MISS for me.

  22. Yeliz November 25, 2013 at 22:38 #

I don’t like the length of the gown, but other than that, this is actually a good look for her.

  23. Jones19 November 26, 2013 at 09:37 #

My favorite look of the night. Old school Hollywood glamour.

  24. snowlion November 26, 2013 at 10:59 #

The hair is white at the roots, yellow at the ends, the dress is cheap looking and tacky and the make up appears to have been applied with a spade. This may be an improvement for her, but that does not maketh a good look.
