Diane Kruger In Prabal Gurung - Metropolitan Opera Season Opening Production Of 'Eugene Onegin'

Diane Kruger attended the Metropolitan Opera Season Opening Production Of ‘Eugene Onegin’ at The Metropolitan Opera House in New York City on Monday evening.

Rendered in an ultra-luxe Taroni double-face satin, her Prabal Gurung Resort 2014 dress is a beauty to behold.

Featuring a contrast bodice with a straight neckline, a banded waist, and a full skirt with on-seam side pockets, her red-white-and-black dress with a rise-and-fall hem is yet another homerun for the talented designer, who has had the pleasure of dressing Cate Blanchett and Sarah Jessica Parker within a week.

How many can boast that?

With no end in sight of the white pumps trend, the German actress styled her look with Casadei toe-cap pumps, with a gold bracelet and onyx earrings accessorizing her look.

A side-parted sleek bun completed her look.

Perfect from head to toe? Would you agree?

I don’t like the hair, a bit too strict, the shoes could have been better and I think the top is not really flaterring.
    Still, she looks good.

  4. Mick September 24, 2013 at 09:37 #

Amazing, I like it more than pretty much everything we’ve seen yesterday at the Emmys.

I find myself SO MOVED by the picture where Prabal’s fixing Diane’s dress and her expression. It’s such a labour of his love, and that laced with some of his creative anxiety, her queen-like exuberent pride- SO personal and every budding designer’s ultimate dream

    • Sara September 24, 2013 at 17:25 #

      Indeed. So cute!

  7. Shannon September 24, 2013 at 09:53 #

That dress, and her in it, is absolutely stunning. I don’t really like the shoes with it…would have loved to have seen her wear sapphire blue shoes…

  8. Moody Crab September 24, 2013 at 09:57 #

    PERFECTION.

Reminds me of that outstanding ball gown she wore at Cannes last year.

Def a strong contender for BDOTY.

    • Yeliz September 24, 2013 at 21:24 #

This is perfection indeed. She looks breathtaking, I’m blown away by the beauty of this look. Strong contender for BDOTY, I agree.

      • KatieKate September 25, 2013 at 18:43 #

+2, completely agree. She is an absolute vision. I wish all RC moments could be this good.

        And Prabal looks adorable.

  9. kane September 24, 2013 at 09:57 #

I’m speechless! I’m not her biggest fan on this blog, but frankly this is breathtaking.

Side note, with this hair I’m totally getting a Winslet vibe from her face. Crazy. And that photo of him adjusting the dress is lovely.

    • Zissou September 24, 2013 at 10:04 #

I absolutely agree with the WInslet-vibe: just checking the first picture I actually thought it was Kate.

  10. Zissou September 24, 2013 at 10:03 #

It might just be too perfect: there’s absolutely nothing that I dislike about this look, but it also completely fails to excite me. I think I’ll forget about this by the end of the week.

  11. Iva September 24, 2013 at 10:07 #

    Gorgeous!
Better than any of the Emmy gowns.

    • Denise September 24, 2013 at 10:39 #

I totally agree. This is the kind of fashion I expected to see at the Emmy’s but it didn’t happen. BDOTW.

  12. Dorothy September 24, 2013 at 10:08 #

I’m not always in love with everything Diane Kruger wears as big parts of the fashion blog sphere is, but this look is refreshing, interesting and fits her like a glove. Maybe I would have liked a touch stronger make-up to really sell it, but it’s still better than 90% of the Emmy looks.

  13. Markness September 24, 2013 at 10:15 #

So basically Diane Kruger will have a spot on my BDOTY like last year with her Vivienne Westwood at Cannes. I must say, this is an Emmy or OScar worthy gown. I love Diane Kruger! I can’t find a single fault.:D

  14. CreoleLady September 24, 2013 at 10:21 #

This look is the best of the three. Wish the white pumps trend would die. I wonder how those hot Sophia Webster heels FC is featuring right now might have looked with this. Or maybe those chic yet edgy black ankle straps Jessica Pare wore with that turquoise gown during the Emmys.

  15. Ayishaa September 24, 2013 at 10:35 #

Beautiful dress. And the white shoes really compliment the dress

  16. Alicat September 24, 2013 at 11:12 #

The picture of the designer adjusting her dress is priceless. They look like they are having fun. A striking, bold look. Perfection.

  17. Parvati September 24, 2013 at 11:20 #

This is an amazing look! It’s a BDOTW-contender for me!

  18. Tugce September 24, 2013 at 11:45 #

At first i thought she was kate winslet! But she looks amazing as usual, of course

  19. TeaAtTwob September 24, 2013 at 12:11 #

I think she looks BDOTW worthy. The white pumps were a great choice for this look, fitting the colour scheme.

  20. Pedro September 24, 2013 at 12:29 #

One of her best looks! BDOTW

  21. Anne September 24, 2013 at 12:56 #

This look gave me goosebumps! I love every single thing about it and totally agree with others that DK wipes the floor with most of the Emmy looks.

  22. Saree September 24, 2013 at 13:16 #

I can’t imagine this look without white shoes. It evens out the contrast of the colour tone. Each colour is visible twice. Maybe that’s some OCD, but that’s how I looked at it, and think this is Diane back at her best!

  23. Camille September 24, 2013 at 13:35 #

A fabulous gown on a beautiful lady. So gorgeous. I love the bodice, so interesting and the strategic pops of color. I am not a fan of the white pump but it absolutely works with this look. Best Dressed of the Week candidate for sure and outshines all the looks from the Emmy’s.

  24. jo September 24, 2013 at 13:48 #

Perfection, but only from the anckles up, still not liking the white shoes trend.

    • Quinn September 24, 2013 at 17:00 #

same here! I just could not get on board with the white shoes trend. For me the shoes here so distracting it pulls the whole look down.

  25. dee September 24, 2013 at 13:57 #

She looks cute but I am not wowed. Not crazy about the shoes.

  26. Elise September 24, 2013 at 14:18 #

So far, the best look of the week. From ankles up, it’s perfect. My only doubt is the choice of shoes. I don’t mind the white colour, it’s just I see too much white, like the pumps are big or something similar. But flawless anyway, the gown is amazing.

  27. Tracy September 24, 2013 at 14:23 #

She can do no wrong. Agreed about the white shoes, i feel like a strappy black sandal would’ve worked, but she’s flawless nevertheless. BDOTW.

  28. anonymous as always September 24, 2013 at 14:31 #

I looooove her and her style! She looks great as always but in the first photo I thought it was someone else!

  29. Moxie September 24, 2013 at 14:50 #

I don’t usually like Diane’s style, but I love this. Definitely a contender for BDOTW. I may even remember it for BDOTY.

  30. Beth Rodrigues September 24, 2013 at 14:54 #

BDOTW and a possible BDOTY!!! Absolutely lovely

  31. Rebecca Z September 24, 2013 at 15:07 #

It is a great dress and she wears it beautifully as usual. Not a big fan of her hair in this case–I like it in the closeups but not from a distance–it makes her head look too small or something–doesn’t balance the volume of the skirt very well. But that is a fairly minor complaint.

  32. amy September 24, 2013 at 15:42 #

    drama. i love it

  33. EmmaWoodhouse September 24, 2013 at 20:52 #

Someone above said Kate Winslet, and that’s exactly what I thought too! I just can’t shake it for some reason! However, I really love this look–LOVE it! Even the shoes don’t bother me. The whole look is clean, bold, dynamic, and beautiful. Pinning it to my BDOTY list.

  34. Betelgeuze September 24, 2013 at 21:19 #

Even though you won’t hear me compliment Diane often, as I sort of find myself prefering to root for outcasts, I must admit that this is spectacular, truly. Love love love. This one gets on my BDOTY list, with no regrets.

  35. Carrie September 25, 2013 at 00:08 #

    I absolutely love this. Perfection.

  36. Nat39 September 25, 2013 at 02:26 #

I don’t think anyone will beat this look for me this week. It’s sharp, modern, impactful. This look will most likely end up on my BDOTY list. I’m in awe.

  37. Giras September 25, 2013 at 03:10 #

Amaze freaking zing! Easily topping all the Emmy ladies for this week.

  38. Prudence September 25, 2013 at 05:02 #

I hate to be this person BUT, I am not loving this so much. Her hair is sooo strict my scalp is itching just looking at her. Also, I do not think the top part fits her so nicely, that little red part never seems to be sitting smoothly in any pics. y’all know I despise white pumps so that surely didnt help me love this look. The idea was great but execution not so much

    • dee September 25, 2013 at 13:52 #

I agree with you. I am not loving this as much as everyone else seems to either. This is almost perfect and I have seen her look better.
