Elizabeth Olsen In Balenciaga – ‘Godzilla’ Preview: Comic Con 2013

Elizabeth Olsen In Balenciaga - 'Godzilla' Preview Comic Con 2013

Staying in tune with Comic-Con 2013’s sartorial trend of black and white, Elizabeth Olsen stepped out for the ‘Godzilla’ preview on Saturday at San Diego Convention Center in California.

Ashley and Mary Kate’s style-forward younger sis made a monochromatic statement in a top and micro shorts from Alexander Wang’s Balenciaga Resort 2014 coolly austere collection.

At first glance, the starlet was playing a plain-Jane role.

But there was an architectural simplicity to the separates that was quietly intriguing, what with the cropped Watteau-back silhouette of the shirt and the draped peplum-inspired detail that floated across the shorts.

Robert Clergerie’s ‘Nantys’ ankle-strap, block-heeled sandals, along with beach-y blonde waves, added a youthful, fun edge.

She looks fresh and cool. I like the shoes.

I’ve loved this ensemble in the look book and I love it on Elizabeth too. She looks amazing, the shoes are great.

  3. Emmeline July 21, 2013 at 18:58 #

I love this from head to toe. She looks effortlessly chic and is probably my best dressed from the weekend.

I really like it. There is a lot of charm in the details . It is simple yet complex and enchanting.

Seeing her made me stop mid-eyeroll. I saw the text of this post (black and white AGAIN, was my first reaction) before the picture loaded. I love this look, perfect for Comic-Con.

    I’d BDOTW this.

I love the lookbook version, but she seems to wear a modified version, like all the interesting details are gone. Is it just the photo?

My favourite of the monochromatic looks at Comic-Con so far.

I wanted to like this, and I really tried. I even looked at each and every Getty image to study the details not obvious here. But, alas, it was not to be. No, I do not like it. So staid, and, dare I say, boring.

Great look for Comic Con, she is not boring, the look is clean and on-trend, the architectural detailing prevents it from being too simple and adds a modern edge, the pumps work well. Well done.

      I agree.

That pose of hers ruin the look for me.

Doesn’t wow me. I hate her pose. As for the clothes, while idiosyncratic, I don’t find anything particularly interesting about them, though I like the shoes. It would be nice to see a compliation of takes on the black/white/minimalist look, maybe at the end of the year. I’m pretty sure though that others would stand out for me more.

I love the proportions. And her legs look so long! She looks put together, but relaxed. And healthy! – her hair and skin are glowing
