Freida Pinto In Gucci – ‘The Great Gatsby’ Premiere & Cannes Film Festival Opening Ceremony

Freida Pinto In Gucci - ‘The Great Gatsby’ Premiere & Cannes Film Festival Opening Ceremony

This is the one I was waiting for. Freida Pinto more than lived up to my expectations this evening while attending ‘The Great Gatsby’ Cannes Film Festival premiere, which also serves as the Opening Ceremony.

The Indian actress wore a one-of-a-kind Gucci coral silk chiffon halter gown which was accented with gold-embellished belt and styled with complementary open-toe shoes.

Adding more gold to her look, she selected Chopard earrings which were on full display thanks to her braided updo.

I love the Bollywood feel to this look with the bright colour and opulent accessories.

She looked like she was having a ball on this red carpet.

I’m not so impressed. The dress is lovely, but it doesn’t wow me. Also, I don’t like her hairstyle.

      Agreed.

She looks lovely and the colour is gorgeous against her skin tone, but I’m not too fond of the hairstyle. Loved her last year’s opening ceremony look more.

Very pretty, loving the vibrancy of the look, however I think she went overboard with the shoes, wish she’d opted for a simpler shoe – hers are competing and taking the focus away from the gorgeous statement belt.

I don’t like the hair but she looks stunning. Her gown literally switches on the red carpet.

I like the dress and the belt, the shoes better remain unseen (at least in this combination) and I’m not sure about hair and make up.

    I want those arms!

LOVE this!! Stunning!! (I have a feeling that I’m going to be saying that a lot over he next several days. ;)) I totally agree with you FC…wow!!

The hair, shoes, and ring are overkill but she looks good. That color is to die for and I love the belt and earrings.

  11. dee May 15, 2013 at 19:07 #

I really like everything especially the color but the hair is bothering me. I really can’t stand the hair.

  12. justme May 15, 2013 at 19:09 #

She looks beautiful but she is drowning in the dress imo. I also agree with those who think the shoes were overkill.

      +1

She looks effortlessly beautiful and that color is just wonderful on her skin tone! Love this look.

  14. dsi May 15, 2013 at 19:22 #

Love the look–opulent, festive–its time to celebrate. The spirit is all over her!

  15. Ruff May 15, 2013 at 19:23 #

The shoes are tacky and the updo ages her big time. But the dress suits her and it is pretty.

  16. CreoleLady May 15, 2013 at 19:33 #

I love it, OTT elements and all, not the least because of her increasing confidence on the RC.

  17. Jai May 15, 2013 at 19:36 #

It feels like there’s a bit too much material on top and I agree with others the shoes should have been simpler. However the colour is to die for, the belt is gorgeous and Frieda is stunning, so by no means a failure!

  18. Prudence May 15, 2013 at 19:38 #

OMG I AM GASPING OVER THE BEAUTY OF THIS! I loveeeee the simplicity of the gown with some really wowzaa accessories. Those shoes look godly as well I cant even deal!!! This might just be my fave of the day!

  19. Erika May 15, 2013 at 19:50 #

She looks tres lovely: the color of the gown, the jewels, that smile! Everything works well for the Cannes red carpet.

  20. Amy May 15, 2013 at 20:19 #

good start. Freida and Cannes is always a good idea

  21. Bella May 15, 2013 at 20:39 #

Love Freida Pinto’s Gucci number, and great accessorising in that hot India-inspired gold. Her twisted hair makes the look appropriately youthful. Stunning!

  22. Rebecca Z May 15, 2013 at 20:54 #

Gorgeous gown, but I am not liking her hair this way. Too elaborate and not flattering.

  23. Aline May 15, 2013 at 21:37 #

I don’t like her hair, the belt and the heavy shoes. Yet, I still really like this look overrall, simply because this color looks PERFECT on her.

  24. Alicat May 16, 2013 at 03:18 #

I love the colour and movement of this dress. The highly decorative belt gives it extra lift. Because of the belt, those heavily decorated shoes are too much. I do not like her hairdo. It is too fussy, heavy and ageing. Her makeup is pretty.

  25. EmmaWoodhouse May 16, 2013 at 04:17 #

Freida is such a vision! The hairstyle is too fussy for my taste, but I LOVE the dress, belt, earrings, and shoes. She had some shoe trouble at the beginning of last Cannes, so it’s refreshing to see this! One of my favorites so far!

  26. Dhppy May 16, 2013 at 06:27 #

She’s too beautiful to be this boring.

  27. the ogre May 16, 2013 at 07:12 #

she looks very nice but her outing at last year’s opening ceremony was even better. sleeker gold metallic strappy sandals would have been preferred.

  28. DM May 16, 2013 at 08:40 #

Positives- her radiant face and the color. Negatives-belt, hair and shoes. I am a bit confused by this look. The draping is so casual for a red carpet, so is the fabric, but then there is the costume-y belt and the overwrought hair. A sense of balance is lacking. Still, for her smile and the way the color looks against her skin, it’s not a total disappointment.

  29. Jess2 May 16, 2013 at 13:29 #

I really love the dress, the colour is devine and the belt is gorgeous. The shoes and earrings are great also but her hair really brings the look down for me. I can’t seem to get past it :(

She just seems like such a bubbly person! Would LOVE to meet her!!! She looks amazing like always!
