Lexi Minetree Wore Marc Jacob On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Lexi Minetree made a guest appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she spoke about playing Elle Woods in the upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series, Elle, and revealed that she watched the original film more than 150 times while preparing for the role.

The actress wore a Marc Jacobs Spring 2001 dress in a vibrant shade of pink with black tulle trim at the neckline and hem. The look wasn’t simply inspired by Reese Witherspoon’s Elle Woods era. It was part of it.

This is the same dress Reese wore to the Legally Blonde premiere in June 2001.

And the connection runs even deeper than that.

Rather than sourcing a similar archival look, stylist Molly Dickson borrowed the original dress directly from Reese Witherspoon herself, creating a fashion handover moment between the actress who made Elle Woods famous and the actress now stepping into her world.

There is always scrutiny when an iconic role is recast, but Reese loaning Lexi the dress was not only a thoughtful gesture, it instantly gave fans a reason to invest in her journey.
