Kate Bosworth In Oscar de La Renta - ‘Big Sur’ San Francisco Film Festival Premiere

Kate Bosworth attended the premiere of her latest film ‘Big Sur’, which was held at the Sundance Kabuki Cinema in San Francisco, California during the 56th San Francisco International Film Festival.

The actress, who is known to wear edgier pieces from the likes of Proenza Schouler and Emilio Pucci, opted for a very ladylike look from the Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013 collection.

Her black wool-boucle dress with a silk-chiffon yoke, accented with a black waistband featuring an embellished buckle, was taken up a few inches, which is to be expected, but I prefer the sleek silhouette of the longer version on the model.

Kate accessorized her look with a black Devi Kroell ‘Grid’ wooden clutch accented with Swarovski crystals, simple black pumps, plus jewels by Ocnarf Sairutsa and Graziela.

Glossy side-swept wavy locks and a red pout provided the finishing touches.

Do you prefer the length of the dress on Kate or the model?

Love it, but agree about the length!

She looks beautiful from the ankles up. I actually think the length of the dress is OK on her.

I actually like the length of the dress and think she looks very nice. The only thing I would change are the boring shoes.

Since Kate is shorter than the model, I think it is a smart option to make the length of the dress shorter. And the shoes should have been better.

    She looks pretty.

Her pumps couldn’t be more boring and I prefer the way the dress clings to the model’s figure. The bottom half of the dress looks odd on Kate and it’s not just because of the shorter length.

I agree. I like this so much better on the model for all the reasons you stated in your post.

The slightly longer length and the proper leaner fit of the skirt is what makes this look so much more elegant and sophisticated. It’s all lost on Kate.

I agree that the skirt needs a leaner fit, the length she chose might have worked with that. The lack of skirt fit also emphasizes her very thin calves and somewhat lank hair. The top of the dress looks really good on her, though, she should look for that bodice and sleeve cut in future dresses. Shoes are very boring.

I would have kept the runway length/fit from the runway, but I do love this look on Kate. She looks fabulous! The hair and makeup works perfectly with it.

Definitely the length on the model works better. The shoes are completely wrong, single sole pointy pumps would work so much better.

I don’t usually get the hype Kate gets, but this time around I love everything from head to toe. The dress is beautiful and classy, the red lips gives the look a sexy vibe and her hair looks perfect. I’m quite satisfied with the whole thing.

As for the lenght, I think the longer skirt works better for the model whereas the shorter version works better for Kate.

I prefer the model’s length, it’s more chic.

I like both versions- the runway’s is chic, Kate’s looks sweet. I love her hair and make-up.

    What a pretty dress!

Love this! My favourite dress from the collection and I think Kate’s styling is great. I don’t mind this length though I do prefer the runway skirt.
