Statuesque stunner Jaimie Alexander strutted out a runway-worthy entrance at the 2013 SAG Awards, hosted at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California this evening.
The actress continued her Marc Bouwer love affair with a statement-making, jet-black gown from the Fall 2012 collection. She’s successfully worn the New York-based designer during her recent ‘The Last Stand’ premieres in London, Cologne and LA. This edgy number may be my favorite, though.
The architectural bodice of the dress walked on the delightfully dangerous side with its skin-baring cutouts. But Jaimie managed to pull it off in glamorous rather than garish fashion.
While the silhouette of the skirt was punctured by a knee-grazing front slit, I wasn’t even bothered by the slight mullet-like drape, although it could have certainly done without.
Her sleek updo and minimal jewels upped the sophistication factor even more.

I don’t really like this dress. It’s kind of 80′s and not in a good way. The material looks “inexpensive” and the black strip at the neck is just weird.
+1, I also thought she was wearing a vintage piece when I saw her picture on the internet. I don’t like it at all, it’s dated and sort of tacky.
I think I unexpectedly love this! It’s sleek, simple and modern. This dress fits get like a glove!
I agree! This isn’t something I would usually go for, but to be honest, it is easily one of my favorites that I have seen so far. She looks a little stiff, but she is working it

Well, I think this is an inspired choice. I actually like it, but in the pic she looks like a Barbie doll.
WOW! This is how you do a black dress! It will be intereting to see who tops this!
The lookbook model is working the hell out of that dress, leather neckbrace and all, but Jaimie definitely gives her a run for her money. Love the look.
She is obsessed with his designs. Which is not bad but at this point she is becoming predictable. I have to say she looks gorgeous though.
It´s an edgier look, and she carries it off quite well but I much prefer her in beautiful feminine looks (like her emerald-green gown moment) that enhance and let her natural beauty really shine through. This feels a bit laboured on her.
plus I´m not too keen on the gown itself – there´s a bit of a ´cheap feel´ to it.
I’m not a fan of this look. Hate the bottom. Not a fan of the black bar at the top.
Certainly a lot of black gowns on the red carpet tonight.
I’m sorry, but I can help to look at the pics and have the impression that her head is backwards because she has virtually no cleavage helped by the black strip on the neck and the shoulder pads. Plus the skirt is ugly, with that mulet design.
Weird.
I can help but look and have the weird impression her head is backwards. I think that’s because she has virtually no cleavage, helped by the neck stripe and pad shoulders. Plus the fabric looks cheap and the skirt is an ugly mullet.
She’s beautiful and have great presence, bu the dress is no game here, sorry.
This is my least favorite Bouwer look for her, this dress is a little schizophrenic in its design, way too much going on. Her hair and makeup are lovely though.
That is one ugly dress.
One beautiful woman, but one ugly, ugly dress.
She is statuesque and lovely, but cut-outs, too-tight mermaid styles, and plunging necklines are always tacky to me. I love her hair but that’s all, I’m afraid.
Edgy in theory but the cut gives her football player shoulders. Nope.
I love this dress sooo much, I am so glad someone finally wore it. lets be honest, the sag red carpet is one hell of a snooze fest this is the most interesting look we’ll probably see. one of the best.
She looks like a futuristic scifi villainess. It’s not unappealing.
Amazing and flawless! She looks so statuesque!
Not my favourite Marc Bouwer look of her, but she does look great.
my best black awards
I really love it on the model.
BDOTW have to be
Don’t like the dress.
The strip at the neck looks a bit awkward but she manages to pull it off. Overall, it’s a great look!
