Katie Holmes celebrated her Broadway opening night of ‘Dead Accounts’ at the after party held at Gotham Hall in New York City last night.
The actress has a knack for dressing much older than her 33 years.
Case in point: this Bottega Veneta Spring 2013 floral-print dress with a black-and-white embellished bib drastically ages her.
It could have a lot to do with the styling, which included thick tights and black t-bar Gio Diev pointy pumps, or it could just be the dress itself.
A signature woven Bottega Veneta clutch with a knotted clasp completed her look.
Can you find any good elements within this look? Or is it a H-2-T failure?

dont mind the dress the tights and shoes though are bad.
Agree. The dress is great, but it needs barely there tights, like on the runway.
I don’t like it. The dress is awful and the styling is not good.
Looks like a dress for a much more mature woman. I don’t like the tights and shoes either. She’d look nice in something more youthful.
This is so aging. This would look good on Anna Wintour, but not on Katie.
I was thinking the same thing.
A big fail. I agree.
I would of thought now she’s single she would dress better….
Just…meh.
Helen Mirren can, and has, done better than this. Katie, come on!
Yes i can totally see Anna Wintour wearing this!, i think if Katie changed her tights it may improve the look somewhat, but its not really doing anything for me
I could see this dress on Anna Wintour but it is definitely not working for Katie. Definitely a head to toe failure. Although I do love the clutch itself.
Katie ruins another fantastic piece YET AGAIN.
She needed her hair up, to ditch the tights and snoozeville shoes.
Serious fail. Personally I think the dress is really ugly and don’t know why anyone would want to wear it. Her hair and makeup are beautiful, but this is just so dreadful.
I like the dress and the shoes but with a pair of sheer black tights like the model.
Two thumbs down. WAY down.
With the lovely collar, I think that the look would have been much improved had she worn her hair up. Unfortunately, Katie’s look usually gets filed under “dowdy”. I think it must be the tights and heels that aged the look because (regardless of what one feels about the dress) it doesn’t scream matronly in the runway version.
I don’t understand how such a beautiful, fit woman would want to dress like she orders from the AARP discount menu.
I like the dress. I like the clutch, and she looks great, but I think no tights plus killer heels would really have taken this up a notch!
I love her glossy hair and pretty makeup. But from the neck down it’s a disaster.
The biggest mistake was to wear tights this thick – sheer hose would’ve worked just fine, the hair should’ve been pulled back to show off the embellished bib detail, and a slightly shorter (more in upper-knee area) length would’ve helped.
total flop! there’s nothing to redeem this : the print is mumsy, the shape is awful, the shoes boring, the clutch unnecessary, I could go on.
I miss 2008 Katie when she had cropped hair and killer sense of style .
