Stars of the small screen hit the red carpet for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ performers peer group cocktail reception held at the Sheraton Hotel on Monday in Universal City, California.
The event was more like an LBD convention, with most of the leading ladies sticking to dark tones and few managing to stand out on this red carpet.
Sofia Vergara: The ‘Modern Family’ actress displayed her curves in a figure-hugging black-lace For Love & Lemon ‘Scarlet’ dress. The long-sleeve mini dress was styled with tights and black pumps. I couldn’t be more depressed viewing this look.
Julie Bowen: Sofia’s co-star also opted for a sombre look. Her black Christophe Josse Spring 2012 organza, tulle and lace ruffled frock was styled with black peep-toes.
Zooey Deschanel: Even though the ‘New Girl’ star also opted for black, her Dolce & Gabbana polka-dot dress with light ruffles had a playful vibe. Shimmering nude tights and black pumps completed the look.
Maya Rudolph: The actress wore a simple black short-sleeve dress. This look, including the grey pumps, is an almost identical look to the one she sported on ‘Jay Leno’ this week.
Amy Poehler The actress wore a Veronica Beard black scuba dress from the designers Fall 2012 collection.
Victoria Summer: The actress switches things up, somewhat, by teaming her LBD with nude accessories.
This has got to be the most boring red-carpet event of the year.

i want to like julie bowen’s but something about it really overwhelms her small frame. I am shocked to see sofia vergara in a silhouette other than a strapless mermaid so thats refreshing. overall pretty dull. maybe there was a dress code?
I dont know why but it seems that Zooey Deschanel’s charisma pales in comparison with her character, Jess. Her styling is always blahhh and her make up seems odd, like she is always using the wrong shade of foundation. And Victoria Summers seems to be best dressed here. Despite the LBD.

I was just asking myself where on hell someone could wear these hideous shimmering tights. Here in Brazil it’s pretty rare.

I am SO disturbed by the amount of black on this RC! Did I miss national LBD day or something? SERIOUSLY! Zooey and Julie look good–their dresses aren’t boring. Sofia looks trashy, and the other three are SUCH a snooze.
