Dakota Fanning graced the red carpet for the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, held on Saturday at the Washington Hilton.
Despite an all-too-familiar hairdo, the actress was much improved, wearing a Prada gown which was surprisingly not nude, cream, beige or clutch.
The actress wore a gorgeous embellished baby-blue gown with long sleeves, a plunging neckline and a keyhole detail which was embellished with silver floral embroidery.
She complemented her look with a silver Prada metallic box clutch, a selection of silver Cartier bangles and silver bow-accented Giuseppe Zanotti heels.
Beauty and hair wise, it was business as usual for Datoka.

Although I like this gown, it’s again a no from me. Her hair ruins her looks every single time. And on this occasion I don’t like her shoes either.

The gown is gorgeous- I was immediately drawn to it. But like everyone else, I detest her hair and makeup, which bring down every single look.
Her sister Elle is a little more experimental in the makeup and hair department, but not much.
I am starting to not understand the appeal of the Fanning girls beyond their acting talents.

Dakota is not doing this amazing dress justice. Look at that fabric! I’d prefer to see a smoldering brunette like Eva Green wear this with a bold red lipstick.

But it is still very boring. She looks like a real jaded teenager. A curly updo with a bright lippie would’ve transformed this look completely.
I think the issue is not so much the style of the hair as is the fact that she never, ever changes it. If this was the first time she had done this hairstyle I would have liked it.
Although the color of the dress is nice, I don’t like the style of plunging neckline and keyhole. It looks sloppy not to mention age-inappropriate. The real issue is Dakota’s lifeless styling. She seems unable to elevate or even to justice to any look anymore. All her looks are morphing into one.

So boring! Even though I love the dress on Dakota, her hair, makeup, shoes and accessories are so boring! I’ve seen this before on the lovely actress. I prefer her sister so much more, since she dares to take chances. Stylish and fantastic chances
