All eyes were on Jennifer Lopez when the judges walked on stage for the ‘American Idol’ Top 7 live performance show last night.
I love Jennifer, you know I do, but even I was dumbstruck by her Hervé Léger by Max Azria Spring 2012 dress.
Whilst her cut-out metallic stripped bandage dress with braided accents has a nude lining in all the right places, it’s way too suggestive for an early TV show with kids watching. No?
The super diva has the body to wear it, no question – just look at those abs – but I’m not so sure it’s the right look for this show when she’s not performing.
Am I showing my age?
With a half-up, half-down ‘Jenny from the Block’ hairdo, the judge completed her look with nude strappy sandals and a Pomellato ‘Tango’ 18K rose gold and brown diamond bracelet.

I think that, regardless of your age, the location you’re in, your body-type, the current trends, etc., some dresses are just distasful.
Also, it looks like her dress was involved in a bad car accident or something like that.

First the dress is not attractive (dare I say ugly?) Second, it is in bad taste for any venue other than the performance stage where it could work. In fact, I think that’s where this belongs–it is more of a costume thatn a dress.

I thought she looked perfect for tv while many people just dress boring day in day out. Who wants to see plain Jane. I love it that JLo will mix it up every week. Some weeks she’s girly, some weeks she’s daring. She’s JLo every time. I love it. A mom to 2 kids, hey, she’s a rock star, why not wear this?

I completely agree. This dress seems as inappropriate for the occasion as the green dress she wore to meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in Los Angeles.
It’s a shame that having a ‘successful’ music career and being a judge on one of the world’s biggest show isn’t enough for Jennifer to get attention. She has to go and wear this slutty catastrophe.
This is just bad , it does not suit her curves, the horizontal lines makes her look wider that she is. she looks like a weight lifter or a wrestler.

When I saw her I think I gasped and even my 7yr old son & 13 yr. old daughter were taken back by the dress and commented on it. It was just too much. I love JLO. I love all her looks forever and ever. But this year it seems she is trying too hard. Even for her. No?
Not a fan, considering how she has been dressing recently which has been chic and awesome this is a bit of a let down. Not really appropriate and I don’t find it appealing as the slits are too much and takes it closer to trashy and further away from chic.
My problem is not how revealing the dress is. My problem is that it’s plain ugly.

Well, I’m obviously in the minority but I think she ROCKED this look. She has the body for it and I don’t think it’s too revealing. Call me tacky if you’d like but I’d totally wear this look.
If I looked like JLo I probably wouldn’t ‘dress my age’ either. She can get away with younger looks because she looks as such.
Jennifer is my girl…she can never do no wrong! (only if I say it!) She looks drop-dead gorgeous…stunning, modernly chio, and extremely edgy. simple hair and heels completes the eye popping dress. Do any one know the heels she is wearing? Did ShoeRazi post something on her nude heels, I’m looking for a pair similar to it. I’m glad she wore this dress before any other misfit celeb (or reality star). Maybe Jennifer Aniston or Halle Berry can pull this Herve off.
Actually, my first thought after examining the dress – the details, her abs, yowza – was ‘meh.’ Her overall look was kind of boring – from the girl next door hair style to the tan shoes, it’s as if she was afraid of it and wanted to tone down the dress as much as possible. Which worked to an unfortunate degree.
I can’t speak to whether it was appropriate for Idol, but I did think it’s the type of dress for a person who is arm candy/video model to wear, not someone who already has established a career.
(Didn’t J.Lo already live out the fantasy of wearing something so “eye-catching” to get attention with the green versace dress?)
