Minka Kelly hit the red carpet for the opening of Marquee at The Star in Sydney, Australia earlier today.
The brunette actress wore a black J Brand ‘Baez’ leather top with Dolce & Gabbana garden-print pants with tulips, roses and butterflies.
She opted for accessories as colourful as her pants by adding cobalt blue peep-toes and a yellow Jimmy Choo clutch.
Neutral makeup and wavy locks completed her look.
The only thing I’m not sure about is the leather top. It seems an odd choice within a mix of summery pieces.
What do you think?

Yes the black leather top is too heavy for the rest of the look. I wish the top even if leather was a summery color
I see where she was going with the leather jacket but somehow it’s not translating with the blue shoes and print pants.
Agreed FC. The black seems heavy and jarring, but I love the silhouette.
The bottom is perfect but a black leather top, really… ?
I kinda like the mix of tough and girlie.
Yeah, me too. And I just love her hair here, it looks naturally gorgeous.
+1
I agree with you FC. Love the shoes though
I absolutely agree! This top is a no no.
I absolutely love this look, and i think the leather top has taken it up a few notches, not down.
I’d like it better if the top were sleeveless, and white or a bright color. But I love the pants.
I love this look, the leather would work better if it were a different color, or like Laura said, sleeveless.
A cream colored top made of light fabric would have been perfect.
perfect for me – apart from yellow clutch
I love the leather top. For me this works head to toe. The top brings in the tough vibe; otherwise, the look would be too summery and flowery
Love the look
Don’t love it at all–the leather jacket’s shape is a bit off and it totally clashes with the pants (which I’m not a fan of either). The shoes and the clutch don’t work together imo.
Hate to say it, but I don’t like the fit of the pant. Not the most flattering look.
great combination, not really good fit but i love it
I absolutely love this look and would wear it myself!
The mix of the floral pants with the leather top is amazing.
