Neon pink is fast becoming Viola Davis’ favourite colour during her spectacular run on the red carpet recently.
The actress joined many other stars at The Beverly Hilton hotel in California today for the 84th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon.
On this occasion she wore a hot-pink Juan Carlos Obando dress, but we’ve seen her in pink before at the ‘Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close’ New York Premiere and W Magazine’s Annual Golden Globe Awards Celebration.
It’s no wonder she loves this colour so much, as it’s very warm and complementary against her skin tone.
Whilst Rooney Mara has given us just two different hairstyles this awards season, Viola sports yet another chic do.
This bang-sweeping crop is one of my favourites from her. It’s modern without making her look like she tried too hard.
Jimmy Choo triple-strap peep-toes completed her look.

This look doesn’t work for me unfortunately. The colour of the dress is just too bruising for my tastes, the fabric looks a little cheap and the neckline serves to exaggerate – to an almost comical degree – the size of her shoulders and arms.
I think her shoulders and arms look fine here.
I love her hair but I was so shocked to learn about her real hair and that she’s always wearing a weave. @FC This shoot would be interesting to cover- http://www.latimesmagazine.com/2012/02/viola.html
I love her with short hair
Me too. She looks phenomenal in that shoot.
She looks beautiful with her short hair.
I agree with Martin (above) that the halter neckline is not a good choice for Viola, but otherwise the dress has a graceful, slimming line.
I don’t blame Viola for liking hot pink because she looks great in it! And like FC, I love the hair.
I do wish Viola had tuned the eye make-up down just
a notch for this daytime event.
I love it, stylish, color and that smile!
i do like the color. IA the neckline is not best
Gorgeous. Is it me, or is she actually getting younger and younger every day??
I think she looks great! And look at those arms!
She looks so good in hot pink. Love that her go-to color is not black, white or beige — and neon bright at that.
Wow she looks great…and she knows it.
FC please feature Viola Davis editorial in the LA Times wearing all black looks from Jason Wu xo
She looks really vibrant and youthful here but still occasion appropriate.
She looks amazing! Who are you people?
Lovely! She loves colour!
Apart from teh makeup, this look is great. The makeup is just a bit too powderyand ashy looking, she has beautiful warm skin but the makeup isn’t doing her gorgeous face justice. The dress reminds me so much of Jenfier Lawrence last year in that hot pink Dela Renta gown, so I’m glad she isn’t wearing a gown in this colour, as it would’ve been too similar.
Viola looks great–her hair is so pretty–but I think that the style and color of the dress, when combined, are a tad too youthful.
Lovely dress but she is a bit too athletic for this kind of dress.
Wow! She is losing weight at speed light, probably just wants to look her best while accepting her Oscar at the end of the month! I think she looks pretty, cute, fresh and young!
