Front Row @ Chanel Spring 2019

Front Row @ Chanel Spring 2019

The front row of the Chanel Spring 2019 presentation, hosted during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday (October 2), saw a group of chic Chanel darlings clad in their designer best — amidst the faux tropical beach-inspired surroundings.

Sylvia Hoeks: Like Dree Hemingway, Sylvia has also recently joined the short list of beauties with a buzz cut. And, although I did not recognize her at first, her striking countenance can definitely handle this new look. It also complements the edgy side of her style personality — which is captured in this menswear shirting mixed with the silken pyjama-style pants.

Mia Goth: I like the use of silver-metallic accents in the belt and bag to cut through the more precious mood of this baby-blue tweed frock.

Poppy Delevingne: I know that it was a sandy endeavor, so I can understand the sneakers. But, they still translated as a bit of an odd match with this interpretation of tweed suiting.

Opening Season Paris Opera Ballet

Opening Season Paris Opera Ballet

Sarah Jessica Parker wasn’t the only one to make a statement at the gala celebrating the opening season of the Paris Opera Ballet on Thursday (September 27). Many others brought style in spades with black Chanel being the look of choice.

Stacy Martin: The French actress’s Chanel Fall 2018 Haute Couture gown had an otherworldly effect with the blue and purple sequins. The impact would have been stronger with her hair tied back and a different bag.

Ellie Bamber: Another one in Chanel Fall 2018 Haute Couture, she opted for short and voluminous. I fear this might have people asking if she’s pregnant given the unfortunate placement of her hand and the dramatic gathers on the midsection.

‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

The fashion was strong at the ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Cannes Film Festival premiere on Tuesday evening (May 15). Attendees joined Emilia Clarke, Phoebe Waller-BridgeThandie Newton and Elizabeth Debicki.

Liu Wen: Never one to go down the sheer, bedazzled route, she shone in Bottega Veneta Fall 2018. She borrowed styling ideas from the runway, but added a Bottega Veneta clutch. The rich marigold colour had such a sumptuous air. I’m curious to see how the ankle boots will go down.

Toni Garrn: The German model showed some leg in Roberto Cavalli Couture. It certainly embodied the designer’s sensual aesthetic. It also showed a level of craftsmanship for the way the lining perfectly matched her skin tone with no distracting bra cups or panty lines.

Doutzen Kroes: The Dutch beauty traded in the gown for strong-shouldered Tom Ford separates paired with pink Tom Ford pumps. Some ensembles with exaggerated shoulders haven’t gone down well, but the proportions of this look shouldn’t offend.

Front Row @ Chanel Spring 2018 Couture

Designer Karl Lagerfeld transformed Paris’s Grand Palais into a classic French garden to plant his flowery, sugary-chic confections for the Chanel Spring 2018 Couture show during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday (January 23), where his Chanel-clad front row duly impressed.

Yara Shahidi: The starlet always impresses me with her command of fashion, and even in this setting, her particular brand of youthfully sophisticated, directional style shone brightly. I like how she brought an experimental twist to this girly-demure frock with the clear booties.

Ella Purnell: There was a prim charm to Ella’s matching sweater separates, modestly finished with a pair of black pumps.

Rita Ora: Classic tweed took a colourful, sporty direction with the songstress’s hoodie dress accessorised in true Rita rebel form with a quilted fanny pack and athletic sneakers. Yet, it all made sense, with the pink-coral hue tied throughout—from her lipstick right down to the accent colour on those shoes.

Astrid Bergès-Frisbey In Chanel – 43rd Deauville American Film Festival Opening Ceremony

Astrid Bergès-Frisbey opted not to change a habit of a lifetime by wearing Chanel for the 43rd Deauville American Film Festival opening ceremony this evening (September 1) in France, where she joined Charlotte Le Bon and Berenice Bejo.

Her Resort 2018 Grecian goddess look came across as effortless and in keeping with her no-fuss, free spirited style.

I do however wish she had incorporated some of the runway styling, like the bag and perhaps the hairstyle.

Astrid Berges-Frisbey In Chanel – ‘Ghost In The Shell’ New York Premiere

Scarlett Johansson wasn’t the only one wearing an eye-catching look to the ‘Ghost In The Shell’ New York premiere on Wednesday (March 29).

Astrid Berges-Frisbey stepped out of the shadows to sweep me off my feet wearing an colour-popping Chanel dress that was first seen billowing down the Spring 2017 runway.

This is such an uplifting piece, so I love that Astrid opted to keep it in sharp focus sharp with natural makeup and no accessories.

I also love the backdrop compliments her frock. This was my favourite look after Juliette Binoche.
