2018 MTV VMAs Red Carpet Roundup

2018 MTV VMAs Red Carpet Roundup

There were many more stars rocking all sorts of looks at the 2018 MTV VMAs on Monday (August 20) in New York City.

Grace VanderWaal: This look is a precise hybrid of what happens when French schoolgirl meets disco ball.

King Princess: The Canadian tuxedo takes on jumpsuit proportions in this belted-up Adam Selman Fall 2018 design. The literal garter “belt” is one thing, but it’s the black orthopedic shoes that kinda killed it for me.

Kim Petras: The Moschino retro kitsch factor was coming in hot here with this zebra, one-sleeve/glove look, styled with tights and mega spiked hoops, that would have placed Kim at a costume party instead of the VMAs had we not known better.

2018 BET Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The BET Awards is always likely to showcase some unique looks.  This host of gorgeous girls, who joined Janelle Monae and Storm Reid, didn’t let us down at Sunday’s event.

Serayah McNeill: I love this gold lame Alice McCall Fall 2018 ‘Le Petite’ top paired with ‘The Future Is Female’ skirt, mostly for the sculptural skirt. Where Serayah lost me was trying to match her hair colour to the outfit. Established Jewelry, EFFY Jewelry, Graziela Gems and Sara Weinstock jewels completed her look, along with Giuseppe Zanotti sandals.

Ashanti: I’ve always admired Ashanti of not playing it safe, but this Annakiki Fall 2018 look would’ve worked better for me if it was another colour, another fabric and just an inch or two longer. This piece was actually presented with a pencil skirt on the runway, but that would’ve been overkill here.

Ashanti In Image du Image – 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards

Ashanti brought some R&B flavour to the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday (March 11) in Inglewood, California.

The singer donned a rich Bordeaux hued Image du Image Fall 2018 custom made sparkling suit.

Defining the waist with a satin sash and amping up the luxe appeal with a stole enhanced her look, but for a custom piece, I wish the length of the trousers was an inch shorter.

Ashanti In Yas Couture by Elie Madi – 2018 Grammy Awards

Ashanti gave us a twirl on the red carpet for the 2018 Grammy Awards on Sunday (January 28) in New York City, where she attended alongside Miley Cyrus and Julia Michaels.

The event is no place to play it safe or go the predictable route, so I love how she embraced the drama of this full-skirted Yas Couture by Elie Madi dress.

It was begging for multiple twirls to show off the skirt’s darker lining and voluminous flare.

The high neck and long sleeves might initially seem like a more reserved choice for the singer, but upon closer inspection, it becomes apparent that the fabric is see-through and the top is not lined.

Giuseppe Zanotti shoes completed the twinkling ensemble.

Who Wore Zoe Champion Better? Sonam Kapoor or Ashanti?

Sonam Kapoor brought Zoe Champion onto our radar when she wore this Spring 2018 colourful look to the Conde Nast Traveler property event in Mumbai two weeks ago.

Ashanti was also seduced by Champion’s pop art and clashing colours, as she wore the same look for an interview this week on People Now.

As much as I love Sonam’s lady-like styling, I adore the pink Louboutins Ashanti selected. The look instantly feels more harmonious.

Ashanti In Michael Costello – 2014 BET Awards

Ashanti In Michael Costello - 2014 BET Awards

Ashanti hit the red carpet of the 2014 BET Awards last night (June 29) at the Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles.

The singer opted for a long-sleeved, white, lace-embellished Michael Costello gown and black and gold Tom Ford shoes.

The dress is beautiful, and right on trend, and while it looked flawless from the waist down on Ashanti’s hourglass figure, I just can’t get past the cut-outs on the top.

This type of cut-out really only works on someone small-busted, and Ashanti’s cleavage looks like it could escape at any moment.

Side-parted blonde waves and subtle but flawless makeup take an old Hollywood approach, which Ashanti would have nailed if it weren’t for the bosom situation.
