Anya Taylor-Joy in Lanvin: A Beautiful Colour, Tricky Proportions
Anya Taylor-Joy attended the Apple Original Films Awards Reception at Brasserie Angelica in London over the weekend, wearing a look that left me wondering what went wrong.

The actress, who is back working with stylist Law Roach again, selected a red skirt suit from Lanvin’s Spring 2027 collection. I loved this on the runway, but on Anya, it simply isn’t working. And as a longtime Anya fan, it pains me to say that.
The problem isn’t the colour, which is gorgeous, but the proportions. The dropped-waist skirt feels awkward on her, while the belted jacket adds bulk where I would have preferred a cleaner line. On the runway, the look has a relaxed elegance that doesn’t quite translate here.
I also find the overall effect ageing, which is something I rarely say about Anya’s red carpet style. She usually has such a distinctive approach to fashion, but this feels far removed from that.
Tiffany & Co. jewellery and Malone Souliers Arc slingbacks completed her look.
This is the first look we’ve seen since Anya and Law reunited, so I’m hoping they’ll soon rediscover the fashion chemistry that made their previous partnership so exciting. Let’s see what the Dune: Part Three press tour delivers. That will be the real test for me.
