Luna Wedler: One Fashion House, Two Venice Looks

Luna Wedler is at the Venice Film Festival promoting her new film, La Ragazza Con La Leica (The Girl With The Leica), serving up two very different looks for the photocall and premiere.

Photocall

Luna wore a graphic black-and-white checked Louis Vuitton look featuring a high-neck, zip-front peplum jacket and coordinating pleated shorts.

There’s something playful about the proportions, particularly the volume of the shorts and the ruffled collar. Black pumps were the right call with this graphic check.

Premiere

For the early-afternoon premiere, things took a far more dramatic turn with a custom Louis Vuitton grey floral-jacquard bustier gown.

Nicolas Ghesquière has been in his minimalist bag for a while, but this feels like a return to the sculptural glamour he is famed for. The fitted, strapless bodice gives way to an enormous skirt constructed from folds and gathers of metallic floral jacquard. What could have looked like crumpled fabric in other hands feels slick and avant-garde from Louis Vuitton.

I love the way the fabric does most of the work. After the playful proportions of the photocall look, this wasn’t the escalation I was expecting for the premiere, which makes it all the more exciting.

A Pure V ring, Tumbler ring, earrings and ear cuff from the Louis Vuitton High Jewelry collections completed her look.

I love how Louis Vuitton dresses rising stars. The house doesn’t just dress anyone, so when a young actress receives this level of custom treatment in Venice, I pay attention. We’ll definitely be keeping an eye on Luna Wedler.
