Kate Mara Swaps Her Signature Mini for Full-Length Glamour

Kate Mara joined her sister Rooney Mara for the Venice Film Festival premiere of Bucking Fastard, following their photocall earlier in the day.

Surely, you’re not surprised that she opted to forgo her love of mini dresses for the world premiere of her new film?

Actually, I won’t be surprised if some of you are.

The actress stepped out in an Armani Privé Fall 2024 gown with a pearl-encrusted bodice suspended from barely-there straps, punctuated by a single oversized pearl at the centre. The dress transitions into a black sequinned column skirt, creating a striking contrast between the luminous top and liquid-like finish below. The black also put her in sync with Rooney without the sisters veering into twinning territory.

Is this an Elizabeth Debicki dress? Yes, I strongly believe it is. The statuesque proportions, sleek column and elongated line immediately made me think of her, but I really like this on Kate. After so many mini dresses, it is refreshing to see her embrace a completely different silhouette for such a major premiere.

And she wears it well. The dress gives Kate the glamour the occasion called for.

Cartier jewels (I wish they had been silver) and, of course, a simple slicked-back bun completed her look.
