Kaia Gerber’s US Open LBD Has Us Seeing Cindy Crawford

On Tuesday night, the 2026 US Open hosted Roger Federer: An Icon Returns to New York, celebrating the tennis legend as he bid farewell to Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Kaia Gerber was spotted heading to the event, and I know this has been said countless times, but I had to do a double take. Yes, we know she looks like her mother, Cindy Crawford, but sometimes the resemblance still takes me by surprise, as it did on this occasion.

And it has a lot to do with her Yana Matkivski Donna dress. Inspired by vintage bathing suits, the design features a bodysuit construction with an integrated pencil skirt, creating a sleek, sculptural silhouette. It feels so Cindy-coded, but also Kaia-coded, as the model has never met a fitted black dress she didn’t love. Her press tour for The Shards only compounded that fact.

The look was styled with Paris Texas Lida mules and Khaite x Oliver Peoples 1969C sunglasses, but the pièce de résistance was the Fendi Baguette 26424 Re-Edition bag from Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection.

Between the vintage-inspired silhouette, barely-there mules and that re-edition Baguette, there’s a distinct ’90s thread running through this look that makes the Cindy Crawford comparison even harder to ignore. Yet this still feels completely at home in Kaia’s wardrobe, where a fitted black dress remains one of her most reliable signatures.
