Gugu Mbatha-Raw Wore Dior To The ‘Possession’ London Screening

Gugu Mbatha-Raw attended the Possession London Special Screening at The Ritzy Brixton this evening.

With London basking in 26-degree sunshine and daylight stretching well into the evening, I can’t think of a better moment for Gugu to wear this Dior Pre-Fall 2026 sunshine-yellow draped dress, accented with soft green leaf embroidery that gives the design a fresh, botanical feel.

Gugu loves a delicately feminine look, and while my first impression was that this dress felt a touch oversized on her, I suspect that comes down to the fluid way the fabric falls rather than the fit itself. It still sits firmly within her wheelhouse. What I also appreciate is just how varied her relationship with Dior has been over the years. She has gone from the rainbow frothy-tiered gown she wore to the Loki London screening in 2021, to the rare edgier green dress for the Where the Crawdads Sing New York premiere in 2022, and now this sunshine-yellow draped design. There’s no single Dior formula for Gugu.

Some of you were put off by this dress’s frayed edges when Michelle Yeoh wore it to her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony back in February. Has you view soften with this second outing?

While Michelle styled the look with her signature Richard Mille watch and metallic silver Manolo Blahnik pumps, Gugu kept things lighter with white sandals and understated jewellery, allowing the vibrant colour and sculptural draping to remain the focus.
