Naomi Osaka Wore Nike x Germanier To The 2026 French Open

Naomi Osaka of Japan returned to court on day three of the 2026 French Open at Roland-Garros for her first-round match against Laura Siegemund of Germany, debuting an Eiffel Tower-inspired tennis kit created through a collaboration between Nike, Kevin Germanier, and Nguyen Tien Truyen.

The look arrived in stages. The black sparkling outfit was upcycled from Naomi’s previous competition looks and featured a structured corset crafted from her match garments, paired with a pleated skirt created from the interior layers of her jacket, with each pleat hand-set to create movement and added dramatic flair.

Once the corset was removed, we got our first look at the bronze-gold sequinned dress. In the following rounds, the kit was styled with a flowing white train and later a matching bronze-brown version trailing behind her on court, continuing Naomi’s run of headline-making fashion moments in tennis.

The idea itself makes sense for Naomi, who has consistently treated the court as a space for self-expression as much as sport. Over the last few years, she has brought whimsy, couture references, and storytelling into tennis dressing in a way few athletes attempt. But standout does not automatically equal successful.

For me, this lacked the elegance, style and clarity of her Robert Wun Couture Australian Open look earlier this year. The concept is there, and there are moments where it catches the light beautifully, but the execution feels underwhelming and overwrought.
