Cate Blanchett Wore Givenchy To The ‘Garance’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Cate Blanchett was back on the red carpet for the Garance premiere during the Cannes Film Festival this evening, following her Louis Vuitton look from last night.

I don’t know about you, but this Givenchy Fall 2026 look feels far too busy for Cate.

The floral-embroidered halter dress would have been enough on its own, but the leather gloves trimmed with coloured horsehair took the look into unnecessarily complicated territory. Instead of elevating the gown, those gloves and trailing sleeve details made the styling feel cluttered and visually heavy.

Much like when Michaela Coel wore a look from this collection, I found the sleeves completely unnecessary. Removing them would have allowed the embroidery and silhouette to land with much more impact.

A rare flat no from me for Cate.
