Alia Bhatt Wore Tamara Ralph Couture To The 2026 Cannes Film Festival Opening Ceremony

Following the photocall earlier in the day, Alia Bhatt attended the opening ceremony of the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, which premiered the opening film La Vénus Electrique (The Electric Venus).

The Bollywood actress kept the summery mood going in a coral Tamara Ralph Couture fitted strapless gown.

I am sure many of you instantly recognised this dress from the sculptural neckline alone, as we have already seen variations of this design from the label’s Fall 2024 Couture collection, most notably on Eiza González at the 2024 Emmys and Kelsea Ballerini at the 2025 Grammys.

Alia herself looks beautiful, and the coral-toned jewellery complements both the softness of the peach shade and the warmth of her makeup beautifully. I also love the way the flowing shawl was styled like a dupatta, subtly nodding to traditional Indian styling while blending seamlessly into the couture presentation.

But when it comes to the gown itself, the styling and colour are doing much of the heavy lifting here.

The bodice, with its visible pulls, slightly distracts from the clean sculptural effect the design is intended to deliver. Considering this is a reworking of a silhouette already familiar to the house, I was expecting a smoother overall finish on Alia.
