Jenna Ortega brought her queen of the goth girls mood to the 2026 Actor Awards on Sunday, but she resisted the obvious all black route we saw at the Golden Globes.

This Christian Cowan Fall 2026 gown, constructed using vintage lace and silk from the 1950s, was purposely distressed to align with an Old Hollywood gothic edge that suits both the occasion and her style sensibilities.

The torn silk panels and raw hem introduced a sense of deliberate dishevelment that immediately set the tone. The delicate black beaded strands draped across her shoulders, along with the grey stockings and black platform sandals, might be the sticking point for some, but I appreciate that the styling prevented the look from feeling too predictable.

Each element provides a counterpoint to the lingerie inspired sweetness, toughening up the look. It is pretty, yes, but not precious or overly refined. The deliberate distressing keeps it Wednesday-coded and slightly confrontational, which feels far more in keeping with her red carpet identity.
