Charli XCX, who provides the soundtrack for Wuthering Heights, attended the London premiere held at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square this evening.

I was expecting something much darker from the singer, so this bespoke Erdem Pre-Fall 2026 skeletal gown came as a surprise. Much like her LA premiere look, however, the mood remains eerily present.

The jet crystal embroidery, featuring mouldings of Helene Smith’s Martian alphabet pinned onto the bodice, as seen in Erdem’s Spring 2026 collection, introduces a darker counterpoint. It breaks up the softness of the pink, creating a push-and-pull that mirrors the film’s emotional landscape.

The pale pink veil is equally significant. While the colour softens the presentation, the veil itself creates distance rather than intimacy. It obscures the face just enough to feel separating, placing Charli slightly out of reach. That choice reflects her role in the project. She is not inhabiting a character but shaping the atmosphere of the film through sound. Like the score, the veil operates as a filter, influencing mood without dominating the narrative.

The overall effect aligns closely with Charli’s musical contribution. Her work for the film leans into emotional intensity and unease rather than sentimentality, and this look follows the same emotional register.

This was less about spectacle and more about visualising the emotional undercurrent of the film, positioning her presence as part of its inner world.

Barron London earrings completed her look.
