The Dior ambassador was, of course, dressed in Dior, wearing a strapless white gown from Jonathan Anderson’s Dior Pre-Fall 2026 collection.

The dress is simple in its design, with soft drapery and a bow detail, but it is the blue sequin trim tracing the hem that instantly caught my attention. That element is where the conversation begins for me, as it feels like a nod to the iconic Junon dress designed by Monsieur Dior in 1949.

Maria Grazia Chiuri revisited this reference in 2023 when she recreated the Junon gown for Natalie Portman, which she wore to the May December Cannes Film Festival premiere. Anya herself has also played in this territory before, wearing a Haute Couture look inspired by the Junon dress to the 2024 Oscars.

Personally, I prefer the purity of the original look book version. On Anya, the added embellishment reads like an afterthought, and I am not sold on the champagne-hued shoes paired with the dress, which only add to that disconnect.

Perhaps had the trim been rendered in the faintest blush pink, rather than blue, the idea might have landed at this event.
