After Rihanna — of all people — handed Pierpaolo Piccioli his first L on the red carpet, I was rooting for someone, anyone, to give the label a redemption arc. Enter Zoe Saldana at this afternoon’s Avatar: Fire and Ash Paris photocall, stepping up like it was a personal mission.

A funnel-neck leather jacket with sculpted sleeves and a deep-V wrap front has endless potential to go sideways. One false fold and we’re in villain-costume territory. But this kind of stripped-back, assertive minimalism is exactly where Zoe thrives. It’s the zone where she quietly flexes her fashion instincts.

On the runway, this piece walked with oversized sunglasses and an exaggerated severity that not everyone could pull off. Zoe softens the edges just enough — slick hair, subtle glam — while keeping the architectural drama intact.

I fully expect her to pivot back to Saint Laurent for the premiere, as their ambassador. But for this photocall it was a fresh reset — chic, unfussy, and full of Parisian ease.
